LG WM3455HS
4.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Dec 30, 2010

The LG WM3455HS is a high-end washer/dryer combination machine designed for those seeking to save space. It offers both washing and drying functionality in one machine while requiring no external venting source like traditional dryers. Additionally, the WM3455HS features LGs Direct Drive Motor, LoDecibel quiet operation and SenseClean System. The WM3455HS dryer function requires no external venting, making it ideal for use in apartments or any home in which space is tight. Its Direct Drive Motor features a proprietary design which uses fewer moving parts than standard washer motors for greater efficiency and durability. Meanwhile, the WM3455HS LoDecibel quiet operation combats its movement and vibrations while washing or drying for whisper quiet operation while its SenseClean technology automatically sets wash time and water level for each load based on weight. Features 2.7 cu.ft. capacity Dryer function requires no external venting Direct Drive Motor LoDecibel quiet operation SenseClean System Number of wash programs: 9 Number of dry programs: 6 Warranty: 1 Year ... PROS: (1) uses much less water than most top-loaders (2) saves the space of having two different machines (3) runs extremely quietly, can have a conversation while standing next to them (4) plays a pleasant tone when cycle is finished (5) sets most of the settings automatically based on the weight of the laundry ... CONS: (1) dry cycle often needs a little extra time after it says its done

Truly a self-contained laundering machine.
5 Star Review   By frugal on Home Depot - May 27, 2013

Reviewer "Happycamper" speaks the truth. Simply read and follow instructions by manufacturer and/or garment care label, load capacity, and there is no problem with drying. Also, although no mention of bleach dispenser in ad, manufacturer recommends adding bleach with detergernt. Own for only 2 weeks, so cannot comment on energy efficiency.

Not for family laundry!!!!!
3 Star Review   By Becca on Home Depot - Mar 27, 2013

I bought this so it could replace my stackable and I could put a countertop over the unit enlarging my kitchen work space. The machine is beautiful, however the length of time required to do a single load of wash is ridiculous. I live alone, so I will have to make it work, but if I had a family to wash for, I would be very dissatisfied. I have had loads average 2.5 to 4.5 hours from start to finish, and they are not large loads. Gone are the days of completing all the laundry in one afternoon. Also, if you do a permanent press load be prepared to remove the clothes immediately, otherwise they will wrinkle so badly it is actually difficult to iron the wrinkles out. Kind of defeats the idea of permanent press wash and wear.

I love this machine.
5 Star Review   By lkdtexas on Home Depot - Mar 2, 2013

It does it all and is a real space saver. It is smaller than i expected. I did not think the large capacity machine would fit in my closet but i think it would have. Someone else said you could not just dry clothes but they were wrong. I washed a load and removed my air dry items and dried the towels. I love it. It is too pretty to hide in the closet. The only con I have is that now I have to cover the dryet vent.

Love this washer/dryer combo
5 Star Review   By Kathy on Home Depot - Dec 12, 2012

For anybody with limited space this is the best way to go. If you have any doubt about this washer/dryer combo, take it from a person who is so particular at what I buy for my apartment. This machine is a very good space saver and yet doesn't compromise on quality. The guys who came out to install it were right on time and very proffesional; and by the way, I got it on sale at a very good price. This was my first major appliance purchase from home depot and was very impressed with the whole experience. My friends with condos and town houses have a great interest in my washet/dryer!

So glad I made the leap to an all-in-one!
5 Star Review   By happycamper on Home Depot - Nov 18, 2012

I have relatives in Europe where all-in-one washer/dryers are common and when I saw them starting to be available here I thought it might be an option -- but I was not sure about making the jump. My biggest worry being the capacity (will I still be able to wash a set of sheets, or a large blanket?) and the drying capability (does it get things dry enough? will it take too long for my liking?) I have had my new washer/dryer for about a month now and I can happily say that I am glad I took the plunge. If you're reading this, you're probably like me and reading everything you can about these to know if could be a fit for you. So, the key things: - drying time -- yes, it does take longer because it does not vent, but i have found that i don't notice because I am busy doing other things and not waiting for the dryer to finish. - capacity -- I can wash and dry a full set of queen size sheets or 3 bath towels and 3 hand towels in 3 hours. - can I wash without drying and dry without washing? -- yes! - best feature -- the time delay quickly became my favorite. I often set it to start before I get home from work, or to start washing early in the morning before I get up so I am accomplishing doing the laundry without even being around to start it or having to shift it from washer to dryer as with my old machines. My loads are slightly smaller, but now it is way more convenient for me to do the laundry so I can get it all done with less hassle. You do have to wipe down the rubber for the lint that collects since there is no lint trap -- I bought a box of no alcohol baby wipes and it makes it a snap. There is also a trap to check and clean every now again on the front bottom of the washer which takes 2 minutes and is super easy. Gets things really clean, has tons of wash cycles to choose from, is super quiet and easily fits in the small laundry space that we have. So, yes it is a bit of a different way of thinking and it is not a cheap purchase, but if you're interested and it sounds like it fits your needs, then I highly recommend it. It's absolutely worth the price.

DO NOT BUY HIGH EFFICIENCY!
1 Star Review   By unhappywasher on Home Depot - Oct 19, 2012

We have owned our LG front loader for 3 years. When washing closes in the normal cycle after about 3 months my husbands shirts became crunchy in the arm pits from the deodorant. To get the clothes to come out cleaner I have to use the pre-wash and the extra water cycle. That solved the deodorant problem but not the gym clothes. Gym clothes seem to come out just as stinky as they went in. While when you do select these options(pre-wash and extra water) it takes about and hour and 20 minutes for the cycle to complete. All that seems to defeat the purpose of high efficiency!!?? Six months ago it started making loud sounds like an air plane taking off. Come to find out the bearings were going out and it was gonna cost $600 to fix. I said no way!! I hate the machine and used it until today as it died. I will be purchasing a new washer and you can be it will not be LG or high efficiency.
