I bought this having previously...
Strengths: Easy to fill shampoo tank and empty separate dirty water tank; brushes, suction, and amount dispensed clean very effectively.
Weakness: None except the hose clips on the back that hold the accessory hose are a bit weak. Not much of a problem, though.
I bought this having previously used a model with a single tank. This one holds more, is way easier to fill and empty, and way easier to clean. You mix the shampoo quickly and easily, so no need to fuss with attaching some bottle to the shampooer.
It cleaned very flat, filthy carpet at an apartment (basement that was flooded). I thought that carpet was hopeless, but it changed the color back to normal on the fabric. It also cleaned our home carpet which is thicker and had been shampooed professionally a few years ago. It looks really good. I also cleaned a rug runner that was dull and hopeless even after I had vacuumed it over and over. Now it is bright again.
I highly recommend this affordable shampooer. It is easy to use, fairly light, holds plenty of clean water, and accepts a good amount of dirty water before needed emptied. It tells you when to empty it via a float that shuts down its suction when it needs to be emptied. You can use it with just hot tap water (no shampoo) to touch up, for spots, or to take that crusty, hard feel out of carpet that was shampooed but not cleaned up well with cheaper machines.
This shampooer also dispenses hot air while cleaning to help the effectiveness and to speed dry time. It seems to really help. We are very happy with this machine (we ended up with Hoover F5906-900, the same features but updated color, and it does as well as the more expensive ones. I expect it to last for years to come.
