Cuisinart GR-4 Griller - Cold Sandwiches No More - Panini :)
Strengths: Quality Unit - Built Well - Non Stick Surface is Very Good - Easy To Clean Up
Weakness: Requires Caution With The Drip Cups
Our family has use the grill for over a month and it stays out on the counter all the time. Sandwiches were first with various types of bread and rolls. Wheat rolls are actually perfect now as they stand up to the toasting much better than the white versions. Cold Sandwiches no more We have gone Panini :).
Meats cook well, Bacon is simple and we learned to turn down the heat to slow the process a bit. Lean Center Cut Pork Chop s, Burgers, Hot Dogs,Sausage, Thin Chicken Cutlets all cook easily with minimal oil needed.
Clean Up is easy as the cooking plates come right out and so far nothing has proved to difficult to clean off of them with just soap and water.

How much do I love it? Let me count the ways.
Strengths: Fabulous, easy to clean, multifunctional, it cooks everything, breakfast to dinner and the plates come off easily and pop in the dishwasher. We use it everyday. Just bought another to send to our son.
Weakness: Haven't found one yet. It would be worth twice the price. They have them at Costco right now for 89. I paid more but don't regret it as I have been using it daily for months.
Been taking paninis to work daily for lunch. I am the envy of the office, they are fast easy and delicious. And you don't have to add extra fat if you have cheese on your sandwich the heat melts it into the bread. To die for.

Strengths: Remmoveable plates
Weakness: Grease splatters on the front all over the controls.
I have used Cuisinart products for 30 years and have been very pleased with their performance, styling and functionality. I have used three different food processors, Cuisinart Cookware, coffee maker and more. Up until recently I felt the Cuisinart name to be synonymous with excellence in kitchen products.
I recently purchased a Cuisinart Griddler instead of a George Foreman grill. The Cuisinart Grill is terrible!!!!
I am disappointed in this product. It was poorly engineered and designed. It splatters grease all over the knobs and controls which are located on the front; this makes it a pain to clean after each use. It does not drain grease off the tray because there is no angle to the grill. The lid does not come down evenly on the pieces of meat. The cleaning process on the stainless steel model is difficult. The temperature controls are vague. There is a barely noticeable red light or green light that is visible when the grill is up to temperature. There was no recipe or cook book indicating what temperatures and times to cook meats. As a result I do not want to use the product.
I have not used it for Panini sandwiches, but it may work well for them. I appreciate that it does open up all the way so to use the flat plates. At this point I would still prefer a Foreman for the specific purpose of grilling meat.

Griddler is GRRREEAT
Strengths: I bought this griddler after spending Easter with my dad on his motor home. He made paninis and I was hooked. I came home, ordered one and use it quite often, Burgers, Chicken, fish, and paninis.
Weakness: The bottom grill plate has had a hard time snapping in after clean up, my dad's doesn't have that problem. But it still works fine, you just have to toy with the switch to get it to lock in.
My 15 year old son, can cook on it also after school, or if I have to work late. He even cleans up, push the button to release the grills and throw in the dishwasher.

Strengths: More heat control options than other grills, cooks evenly, heats fast, grills veggies!
Weakness: cord is too short
Used it for the first time last night. Easy set up. I made grilled vegetables and chicken. It was great! I can't believe I waited this long to buy one. I'll be using this all the time now.

My wife loves it.
It isn't as big or well built as the old hamilton beach it replaced, but my wife loves it. That's all that matters around here.

CUISINART GRIDDLER COUNTERTOP
I PURCHASED MY 1ST GRILL APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AGO, LOVE IT, EASY TO USE, EASY TO CLEAN, PERFECT RESULTS WITH ALL I HAVE USED IT FOR. HAD RAVES FROM MY CHILDREN, SO I BOUGHT 4 MORE GRILLS FOR CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR THEM.

Bought this grill to replace the George Foreman Grill we had and it was a good buy. Heats fast, has various temp settings which makes cooking more efficient. The reversible plates make it easy to cook a variety of food. So easy to clean. Just pop the plates in the dishwasher and its done. My wife and I love it.

It just works. Does what it says it will but better!
We are extremely happy with this machine. When we got it we would put it away when done however we found out we used it every day so it found a place on our counter for good.

Inconsistent Heating Element
I was not satisfied with this products performance. The heating element only circles the gill. This resulted in inconsistent cooking.

Griddler is Excellent
I have had this product for 9 months and I have used it for everything from burgers, steaks and ribs to Pancakes. I live in an apartment and can't have an outdoor grill, so this has been an awsome addition to our kitchen. I have just found another added bonus of this machine. I went to a football game and decided to try this for tailgating at the game, With the power invertor in my truck I just plugged it in, Set it up on a folding table and was ready to cook nice juicy fresh steaks in minutes. Best of all unlike a regular grill there was no propane or hot messy charcole to clean up or store on the ride down and back. This machine keeps getting better and better.

Griddler Product Review
I rated the product a four because of the ability to prepare excellent Panini sandwiches. It's also great for grilling burgers and preparing small breakfast meals. My only dislike about the product, is that it's too small.

I love this grill !!
This is a wonderful product. It is not only easy to use and a cinch to clean (the grill plates are removable and can go right into the dishwasher)but it is 3 appliances in 1. It's not only an indoor grill that can be used open or closed but is also a griddle and a panini maker. I highly recommend this product !!

The Cuisinart griddler has more than lived up to its description. The ability to cook various items with one appliance has been very helpful. It has served as a wonderful grill when it is to rainy to use our outside grill. The clean up is a snap, much better than similar products we have owned in the past. The Cuisnart griddler is also very easy to store when not in use. I have highly recommended the cuisinart griddler to family and friends.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler
Strengths: Heavy, durable, versatile, even cooking, and easy cleanup
I purchased the Griddler for my mother. She wanted it in order to roast vegetables, something she could only do on the grill thus far which was more work than it was worth. The Griddler opens to form a flat surface unlike many other indoor grillers such as the George Foreman. By opening fully it is able to cook pancakes, eggs, vegtables, and countless other foods. Along with opening flat the griddler also does a great job cooking meats by closing the lid, and Panini's which I have not tried making yet but am extremely excited to try. Thus far the Griddler has been a terrific purchase, my mother loves its versatility and ease of use. I highly recommend this product for any one who enjoys cooking.

Cuisinart GR-4 sent my George to the rummage sale.
Strengths: Clean up is quick and easy, cooks fast and even. Works like a bacon press.
Weakness: The drip cup can be bumped out of place easily.
I have been considering buying the GR-4 for a year. I hesitated because of the price, now that I have I wish I hadn't waited so long. I instantly fell in love with it. You hate to spend that much on an appliance and it ends up in the back of the pantry. Some of my other concerns proved not to be a problem at all. I was concerned that the cooking bed is not as angled as the George and was worried that the grease would pool instead of running away. I cooked bacon and the fat ran into the cup just fine except I bumped the cup after removing the bacon and a bit ended up on the counter. I'll learn. The bacon cooked up great! Like a bacon press! On the George bacon is so thin The top didn't make contact, I would have to flip the bacon while cooking. The drip cups look small but don't worry, I measured the amount the cups hold compared to the George drip tray and they hold the same amount. My other concern was the size. I don't have a lot of counter space. I found the GR-4 doesn't take up any more room than the George but I have gained cooking area. I like the tempture control. Chicken breast turned out moist and juicy. Clean up is a breeze!!! The George usually was a 10 minute job. Bye! Bye! George.

Strengths: Multi-functional and heats up/cooks faster than the traditional stove top oven.
Weakness: It's not slightly tilted which would allow grease to drip more easily.
I've made fish, sandwiches, pancakes, and chicken on this nifty kitchen gadget. I'm still trying to figure out what the difference is between the griddle vs the grill knobs--both seem to accomplish the same goal. The instruction booklet also doubles as a recipe book with ideas for paninis, pork chops, sausage, french toast, etc. If you're a George Foreman fan, you can use those same recipes for the Griddler as well. Also I've put the griddle and grill plates through the dishwasher with no problem.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler
Strengths: Quick and easy to use, easy to clean removable plates - most times it stays clean while you cook anyway so you can just wipe it after it cools
Weakness: Yet another thing to find storage space for in the kitchen, would help if the cord was longer.
I bought the Griddler a month ago for my husband's birthday. He had wanted a griddle, but after reading reviews online I decided to buy something that was more versatile and easier to clean. So far I like the Griddler a lot. I have used it about 8 times. I especially like making Paninis with it. I also use it a lot for Quesadillas, but my husband still sticks to using a pan on the stove for that because you have to have the motivation to get the griddler out and put the correct plates in it. I can't wait to use it to do indoor grilling in the winter. I found it cheapest at Linens N Things and Bed Bath and Beyond because you can use your 20% off coupon.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler
Strengths: Removable grill tops and hinged lid
Weakness: lip on the edge is too low
This is the best kitchen top grill that I have found and the price is very reasonable. The best things about this grill is the removable burning surfaces which make cleanup a breeze. The hinged lid also makes cooking thick cuts of meats or burgers a breeze. I am very happy with my purchase.

Griddler knocks out the Foreman Grill
Strengths: Versatile, Dual-thermostat for Grill and Panini, great looks, SUPER EASY to Clean!
Weakness: Drip cups to catch fat/oil can easily be bumped
My wife and I have had the Cuisinart Griddler for just one weekend, but we used it 3 times already! We've cooked burgers, bbq, and grilled panini sandwiches. And it all tastes so good. We are totally in love with this machine. Clean up is so easy and dirt washes right off.
My only complaint is that you have to place drip cups to catch the fat and the cups can easily be bumped. Just be careful not to bump the cups and you'll be fine. I highly recommend this product!

Cuisinart GR-4 Griller Four Multifuctional Cooking Options
Strengths: I owned a two burner grill/griddle until I dropped it> It broke into two pieces. The Cuisinart is every bit as large when opened up. I now have a teflon finish, nice. Heats up very quickly.
I wish I had known about this product before. Will buy another for Christmas present. Great for hambergers and panini, that's all I have used it for so far.

Loved it; bought 2 more
Strengths: Little smoke, if any; easy clean up, fun to use
My husband and I bought one, loved it and bought two more for our son and daughter and their families. Grilled three good-sized strip steaks at once and there was virtually no smoke. I use a wooden chopstick to poke up the cheese bits after panninis have cooked while the grill is still hot. After turning it off, I set a timer for the 30 minutes it needs to cool down then put the grill plates in the sink, let them soak a few minutes then scrub with a dish brush -- everything comes off beautifully. I keep it on a cookie sheet so it slides easily across my countertop because I use it nearly every day.

Cuisinart GR-4 Griddler with multiffunction cooking options.
Strengths: Relatively compact, well designed upscale product. For cooking power, it has the highest wattage in its class. Superior 3 year warranty. This combo makes makes the pricey product, good value overall.
Weakness: Pricier and the countertop footprint / shelve space when not in use given it can't be stored out of the way on-end like the neat TFAL contact grill (if you don't require a smooth pancake griddle).
Head-to-head, the Cuisinart is comparable in price, size and power with the George Foreman G5 Next Grilleration Grill Waffler Griddle, but with 1500 Watt power the GR-4 exceeds the G5 by about 50 Watts. The no-chip stainless versus enamel finish is a plus for the Cuisinart. Its 3-year warranty far exceeds the competition's warranties. For max flexibility, it lacks the waffle griddle of the G5; but then where are you going to store all the removeable cooking surfaces when not installed without scratching the no-stick surfaces. At 425 degrees, the heating control tops out higher than the 400 degres for some of the competition.

Best appliance I've ever had!
Strengths: Looks great on countertop, cleans easily, grill plates easy to remove.
Weakness: None, but wish there were more receipes in the instruction book.
I've had the Cuisinart GR-4 for over a year and love it! Even used it on a car trip with family visitors when we stayed at a timeshare without full kitchen. Easy to transport, so easy to clean, does a great job at cooking just about anything. Have done everything from eggs to sandwiches to steaks. The ability to use the grill flat is a plus when there are extra people. I do not consider the fat cups a problem. I keep the grill in the corner of my counter on a soft placemat and just pull it out to use. Sometimes, especially when cooking steaks, I put it on my stovetop so I can use the stove fan.

Great Panini Sandwiches!
Strengths: ease of use/cleaning
Weakness: cost, time to heat, consistency of heat
We have had this griddler for a couple of weeks and have primarily used it for panini sandwiches and grilling vegetables.
We've had a good experience with it and are keeping it. The sandwiches come out tasting very good-- the bread grills very well. My only complaints would be the amount of time it takes to heat up (several minutes) and the fact that it doesn't seem to heat evenly. (When grilling vegetable slices/pieces on it, the ones on the edges of the grill don't cook as well as the ones in the middle.)
Finally, I would say it's a fairly pricey appliance.

It is not only a grill
Strengths: non-stick grill plates, multifunctional, large open grill
Weakness: high price
This grill is multifunctional with its non-stick grill plates (double surface-removable). If you like pannini, this is the best griddle on the market. Easy to clean (wiped off with no effort). Cooks fast (various level of cooking). I highly recommend it.

Works great, but plates are not durable
Strengths: Cooks well. Gets VERY hot (good for searing). Most don't do this. Stays hot. Cooks evenly.
Weakness: Cooking plates are not durable. Black stuff on back of plates comes off on fingers. Says dishwasher safe, but back of plates builds up with dusty granuals from somewhere.
Replacement plates are ridiculously expensive. $30. And that's not a pair/set. That's EACH, as in one upper or one lower! The total cost for new plates adds up to more than an entire new unit!
I like it, but I will not be buying another one.

Great quality, works well, easy to use.
I am very pleased with this grill/griddle. I haven't used it for a griddle yet, but I'm sure I will love that, too. I do not like outdoor grilling because of being at the mercy of the weather. I highly recommend this item.

pretty good indoor grill cant go wrong
It does not take that long to heat. as others have said. the plates pop and are easy to clean. for the most part the plates are stick free but you still have to grease them. I'm starting to use it to cook everything. you cant go wrong

cheap grill I would get a more expensive grill next time!
Not as good as I thought it would be. Takes a long time to heat up the grill. alot of cheap plastic. sandwiches grill better with hard crusty bread. Grill hard to clean after using meats!

Simply the Best!
This is the most versatile and unique appliance that I have ever owned. It is great for cooking for two or that panini party for Sunday football. The grill is very easy to clean looks so great I store it right on the counter top! I highly reccommend.

This griddle is excellent. Our family, ages from 12 to 70, were able to prepare amazing dishes. Great for the whole family. Thanks Home Depot. We enjoied this appliance during the holiday season a lot. Easy clean up. children and college students can prepare their meals easily, and almost anywhere. Thanks again, Cat

The Griddler is Great
This product is a must have for any busy kitchen. It does pancakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, and even saved the steaks at our BBQ when we ran out of gas.
By true on Home Depot - Sep 25, 2007
you cannot go wrong with this griddle/grill/panini press! i use it almost every single day. to use as a closed grill to grill things like hamburgers, i can easily fit enough on there for five. and if you open it up as an extra large griddle, i can cook enough pancakes and sausage at one time for all five. this also makes great sandwiches and wonderful juicy grilled chicken breasts! i can't say enough about this great appliance!
