Strengths: Lots of space, flexible shelving, the design of the bottom-mount freezer is really great (not just a bin, but also has a pull-out drawer so your frozen goods can be a touch organized.)
Weakness: Repairs! The French Doors seemed like a good idea at the time, but have turned out to be a pain in the tuchas.
In the three years we've owned this fridge, we've had to replace the overload relay, the compressor, and the control board--and only the compressor has been covered by the warranty. In the three years we've owned this fridge, we've had to replace the overload relay, the compressor, and the control board--and only the compressor has been covered by the warranty. In addition to the extra $500 in repair bills, we've also had to absorb the cost of lost groceries and copious quantities of ice/dry ice (because your fridge never dies on a day when the repair people can just come out...)
The design of this particular fridge includes a wide bottom drawer for storing meats, breads, what have you--but unfortunately, you have to open BOTH french doors to get anything in/out of it. Plus because one side of the fridge is against the wall, we can't open the door on that side wide enough to get things out easily--so we're always balancing the opening of TWO doors plus whatever needs to go in/out.
If I knew then what I know now... I wouldn't have spent so much money on this behemoth, and I would've just gotten a simple bottom-freezer fridge!

Maytag White French Door Refrigerator with Bottom Freezer
Strengths: Aesthetically pleasing. Easy to use (ie.adjust shelves, organize, fill) Temp.Adj.features are nice.
Weakness: A little noisy for the kitchen, however, this is my secondary fridge for the basement, so not a problem for me.
I would reccommend this product to anyone who is interested in a french door style refrigerator. Also, if you are debating styles, I highly reccommend the french doors, and a bottom freezer will always be a must for me!
