It is the KING of the hill of refrigerators
5 Star Review   By John on Home Depot - Jun 11, 2013

This refrigerator is a master piece of design and features. Simply a thing of beauty that family and friends "oooow and aaahhh" over. Everyone in my family of five loves it. The door-in-door feature is what pushed me to buy this one and I liked LG's features over another door-in-door model made by LG for another brand, though I like how the OTHER freezer door tilts out, but not enough to choose it over the LG model. I like the design of the ice and water despensors on this model over just about any other one on the market. I HIGHLY recommend this unit. VERY quiet when running. Complaints on other reviews about slow ice making are probably due to using a self-tapping saddle valve for the water supply which results in too small a pin hole in the water supply. LG strongly advises the use of a 1/4 inch drill bit on the water supply pipe and tap into that. Water pressure will be a LOT stronger, though the self-tapping kits that sales people sell with it will work fine. The electronic display next to the despensors is very elegant and simple in design. Not real complicated as if you were testing to qualify to fly the Space Shuttle. Be patient and wait for it to go on a GOOD sale.

Have had it for a year and it is rocks!!
5 Star Review   By LGguy on Home Depot - May 30, 2013

Hands down best fridge I have had. it is very user friendly and has a lot of space. It keeps everything very cold. Water and Ice dispensers work well, however, the ice does melt together at times and prevents it from coming out. But after a few bumps to the ice bin everything is good.

Love it, but....
4 Star Review   By axgold on Home Depot - Apr 23, 2013

Overall it is a great appliance. The ice maker appears to keep up thus far, we have not hit the height of summer ice needs. The only complaint I have is the door in door feature seems to be challenged. We loved the idea of a quick door; however, the shelves within the door are not adjustable and do not accomodate a bottle of wine or 2 liter soda bottle. Also, the inner side of this feature has a fold open door that opens on its own more than half the time. This could have a better hinge.

Very useful and family friendly features
5 Star Review   By Lori on Home Depot - Apr 22, 2013

We luv our new frig! The door in door feature is a stroke of genius. Since we've only had it a few weeks, I have no idea about energy efficiency, but we love it's versatility. The split shelf is great [I think it should come w/two, however]. I'm not really one to know about the value, but I do know when I like something and I have recommended this product to everyone who comes into our home.

Outstanding Product
5 Star Review   By Homeowner on Home Depot - Apr 16, 2013

I love the spaciouness of the main compartment. I love the front door half that holds a lot more than I anticipated. I love the 2 slide out trays in the freezer that make it easy to put things I need sooner on top. Very versitile and easy to use. I have had a side by side for years and will not go back now that i have one of these!

Two service calls in four months
1 Star Review   By exb3 on Home Depot - Apr 12, 2013

Unit was delivered In January 2013 with a defective control panel so it would not make ice, dispense water, etc. A serviceman came out and replace the control panel under warranty. In March the refrigerator started to make an awful noise. The fan for the icemaker was defective. Because their was a service bulletin out on other models that had faulty ice maker fan they fixed it at no charge but after two service calls in 4 months to replace defective parts on a brand new refrigerator I do not have much faith in LG and am wonder if something else will break.

Very Happy with this refrigerator!
5 Star Review   By Vman on Home Depot - Apr 3, 2013

When examining the different refrigerators, this LG model stood out. I liked the look, feel and distribution of compartments. I did some research online and had some concerns since there were comments about noise, condensation and ice capacity. I have never owned an LG so it made me hesitant. I did some more research and found that Consumer reports gave it a good rating, not the best. I went with my overall gut feeling and decided to purchase it. So far I am very happy. I owned a Whirlpool before and it had a lot of issues. It seems that in general certain names are good but occasionally you get a bad apple. I have only owned this product for a month now, until a few years go by I will not be able to decisively say this is an awesome product but, it has had a good start and I see no obvious reasons why it can not continue to be an excellent purchase. One last thing, the ice maker is much smaller and the ice cubes are much smaller. I originally thought it would not produce enough ice but, it produces more than enough for my family of three and because of the smaller ice we do not have to use as much to keep our drinks cold. I can only comment on my particular experience, I have to say that the price is a little steep but the convenience and features are worth it, if it ends up been a durable product and lasts at least 10 years.

Great purchase
4 Star Review   By MG1977 on Home Depot - Mar 12, 2013

Love the size of the freezer and fridge. I have only had it for four weeks so I can't report on the longevity, but all of my other LG products have held up great and I doubt this fridge will be an exception. Would highly recommend!

I am in LOVE
5 Star Review   By OLDmyrt on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

I have only had this for two weeks but I fell in love with it at first sight. It has so much room and is easy to get into. I especially like the extra door for drinks etc. because it saves a lot of time and energy. The freezer is so easy to find things and shuffle things around. I had a side by side before this and hated every day with it. This is the most I have ever spent on a refrigerator before but when you consider you will have it for a good 10-15 years so you should get something you love rather than something that just gets the job done. You can do that for less money but you would not be as happy as I am with this beauty. I did wait for a sale!

Poor cooling quality, temperature stays at 40 degrees F and not lower when it is set at 33 degrees
1 Star Review   By man1234 on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2013

Stay away from this Refrigerator unless you just want to buy a kitchen cabinet for storing stuff because it does not cool below 39 degrees no matter what temperature you set the termostat at.We bought this refrigerator 2 months ago, the freezer and ice maker were working fine but the refrigerator was not cooling our food below 40 degrees especially in the second door compactment. We thought the fridge was defective, home depot replaced it with another brand new one. Still same problem, the refrigerator not cooling below 40 degrees. We now decided to stay away from this LG and homedepot was still kind enough to take it back again and we are replacing it with Samsung RF323TEDBSR.

Excellent Buy
5 Star Review   By Scott on Home Depot - Dec 23, 2012

Replaced previous builder grade refrigerator that was 18.2 cf top freezer. Also, had an additional upright freezer in our garage for extra storage. When we started loading our new LG refrigerator, not only were we able to move everything from the old refrigerator but also had enough room in the LG freezer drawer to empty our 15 cf freezer. Capacity is great!!! The drawers and dividers in the freezer drawer are great at allowing organization. The spill proof shelves are great, especially the one that can be reduced by half by simply sliding it back (great for the tall bottles of wine. Finally, one of the greatest features is the door-in-door access. We have a toddler, so access to snacks, juices, condiments, and milk (two gallon jugs side by side), is great! Overall, very happy with the purchase, especially the great savings during black Friday week!!!

So far it has performed beautifully. Great idea to have a door alarm, with my children, this has come in very handy. The inside lights are awesome. I can see everything at once with the clear drawers and bright lighting. Salesman recommended Steel Meister cleaner.....a must! Service and delivery were flawless.

5 Star Review   By JEFCCF on Home Depot - Dec 11, 2012

So far we give this an excellent rating but we've only had it for a weeks so it's too early to truly rate the energy efficiency, quality and value. Ask us in a year and we can give a more accurate review.

Love that my water bottle fits under the spout on the door. We open the whole fridge much less with the extra door. The shelves and drawers allow sorting of food , which I love!!!

Best fridge solution money can buy
5 Star Review   By mike on Home Depot - Nov 19, 2012

We needed a new fridge as ours was over 14 years old (great job GE!) and we were remodeling our kitchen. We thought we needed a counter depth unit of which there are fewer models to choose from. We bought one and returned it. Too small and noisy. Turns out our remodel plan allowed for a non counter depth model so our pursuit continued. After the bad experience with the counter depth unit, we explored all options with no budget restriction to really see what our money could buy. We quickly ruled out the sub-zero true built in options since they really didn't offer much value for the money other than being an "heirloom" appliance which would remain in the house forever. You get those units fixed when they breakdown as opposed to replacing it. They offered typical space and few if any creature comforts such as water and ice door dispensing were available. We went back to the conventional fridge designs. There we learned that the tricks of the capacity designation has a lot to do with how they divide up space in the doors. A 24 cubic foot unit compared to a 25 cubic foot might have that extra cubic foot spread all throughout the door space. The box itself is not any bigger. The shelves on the doors, for example, are just a little deeper on the 25 versus the 24. Enough room to actually put anything else on the shelf? No. Does it have more capacity? Yes. Is it usable capacity? No. Technically it is bigger, but practically useless. So... We said we wanted to see the largest refrigerator available. That was the LG with the door on door design. I was never a fan of gimmicky features, but this unit has truly optimized the use of space. As an engineer, I am truly impressed with the design and configuration of all the features in this unit. A couple of other observations... Electric use does not vary much from one size to the other. Also, we stopped playing the game of limiting our budget to a certain level. Yes, it's easy to say that if you've got a good salary, but regardless, it keeps your food and will last the better part of 7-10 years. Make the investment. The only downside on this purchase was that it is made in Korea. Not a fan of the working standards there, however, they truly made a great product here.

Love this fridge and Home Depot!
5 Star Review   By Laura on Home Depot - Sep 26, 2012

I shopped and shopped and reviewed appliances. I got many different stores opinions about brand and LG was recommended by all. After months of debating if I really needed the fridge, I decided to treat myself. I could not be happier with the beauty, space and customer service. The fridge shelves I will have to work on, as I feel there could be one higher shelf for larger bottle storage. And for me, giving up a 16 year old fridge that had tons of door space, I have some condiments sitting on fridge shelves and not all my salad dressing is standing up. Bought gas LG stove to match with the convection bake. Love that too. Love the peek door. And the fridge makes no noise whatsoever. Sometimes I open it just to make sure it is cold! Did I say how much I love this fridge?

Great appliance for every kitchen
5 Star Review   By Hodges on Home Depot - Sep 26, 2012

My wife and I bought this fridge a couple weeks ago; I had my eye on this thing since it came out. My wife wanted the SAMSUNG french door fridge her mom got, but I wanted this one because of the double door feature. It looked really cool. After my wife doing some research and getting a great deal at Home Depot we purchased this one and have had fun with it ever since it was delivered. My wife and mother inlaw cook dinner at our house every Friday and my mother inlaw talks about how much she loves our fridge more than hers because of the layout, space, design and features. Its quiet, efficient, and looks great. If I had the space, I would have two of these things....

Wow! Love it!
5 Star Review   By BeckyB on Home Depot - Sep 2, 2012

This frig is beautiful, convenient, spacious and easy to use. Lots of area that is nicely laid out. The freezer is huge and so easy to open, put things in, find things. Design is ergonomic....easy on the back. Love the freezer drawer design. The ice and water dispensers are just magical. And the secret door is handy and fun. The interior has the most beautiful lighting. We are very pleased!

This refrigerator has made shopping easy!
5 Star Review   By McCaffertyJ on Home Depot - Jul 17, 2012

With a house with two teenage boys, we were looking for a refrigerator that could accommodate a lot of snack food, but stay energy efficient at the same time. The feature of the small "pop" out door on the right side is perfect for quick snack items and drinks like milk and soda. Without having to open the door the entire way, our boys can easily reach in for a soda and an after school snack. The freezer has three compartments and the handle has extra spring action to help open the bottom fridge, which in some fridges can become very heavy and difficult to open when full. The ice make seems to make plenty of ice, and the extra bin in the freezer is great when we are having guest over to prepare for an increase in need of ice. And the "quick ice" feature is great when you suddenly run out. The only flaw we see with the water dispenser is that there is essentially nothing under the dispenser to catch the water that drips after you get your drink. We have a hard wood floor and I was concerned that it would drip on the floor and create a spot. I have purchased a floor mat to decrease the puddle issue, but we are perplexed as to why there is a water catcher when it doesn't catch the water. (flaw in design). Also, the water from the dispenser is not cold. It is room temperature and so you have to use the ice to get cold water. Not something I was expecting. Also, there seems to be some condensation on flap between the doors, but it doesn't seem to be hindering the operation of the fridge or temperature. I may call LG just to make sure that it is okay to see some condensation. Overall we are extremely happy with the fridge. We can shop at Sam's Club or Costco and know that we are going to have room for every item that we purchase.
