Frigidaire FGUS2642LF
3.5 Star Review  productwiki.com - Jan 4, 2011

The Frigidaire FGUS2642LF is a stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator. It has a 26 cu ft capacity and several features to help organize the contents. The large crisper drawers are humidity controlled to help keep fruits and vegetables fresh. SpillSafe shelves are used to keep spills under control. Two of these shelves are fixed, but one is a sliding shelf to make it easier to get at things at the back. The water filter uses PureSource 3 technology to remove heavy metals, and the ice dispenser makes both crushed and cubed ice available. This refrigerator is Energy Star and CSA approved. Features Side-By-Side design Stainless Steel finish 26.00 cu ft capacity Stainless Steel door handles Side-Mount ice maker Tall, Single Paddle dispenser Black Electronic Button controls Crushed Ice, Cube Ice, Water PureSource 3 water filter 2 One-Gallon adjustable door bins, 2 Two-Liter fixed door bins Dairy Compartment, Meat / Deli Drawer 1 SpillSafe ... PROS: (1) clean lines, black control panel, resists smudges, looks impressive (2) interior is well-lit, no dark areas, easy to find what youre looking for (3) interior is very spacious, shelves can be configured to suit individual needs (4) runs virtually silently, can barely hear it except when ice is being made (5) spills on the shelves dont trickle down to the floor or to the other shelves, everything stays contained ... CONS: (1) freezer space is a little smaller in practice than it looks in a showroom (2) spills are common when dispensing ice, it comes out uncontrolled and a little unpredictably

Stopped working after a little over a year
1 Star Review   By Jake on Home Depot - May 30, 2013

I bought this in Jan, 2012 and now, the damper assembly needs to be replaced (costing me $260 with labor and all). very dissatisfied with it. My old refrigerator was maytag and came with home, very old one. It wasn't very efficient but at least worked reliably. I am not sure how well this will work even if I get it repaired.

We are enjoying this refrigerator. Looks great and has plenty of storage in both compartments.

So Far so good
4 Star Review   By DinAustin on Home Depot - May 3, 2013

the refrigerator is exactly what I wanted, but the delivery and install left alot to be desired, first of all the doors had to be removed and were put back on uneven, the electrical box on top of the fridge was damaged by using a screwdriver to remove it with screws still holding it down. the fridge couldn't be attached because an adapter was needed they didn't have one the hose they were going to use was a cheap piece of plastic I had to go to Lowes to get a quality braided metal hose and the right adapter hooked it up myself, water and Ice for everyone. Disappointed
1 Star Review   By Jimmy on Home Depot - Feb 2, 2013

Maybe I got a lemon. Had the compressor replace after 6 months. Then as soon as the warranty was over the icemaker would only spit out crushed ice. Now the darn thing wont shut off so all I have now is a giant freezer. I was told by the service tech that these fridges are notorious for compressors and circuit boards going bad. So I am done with Frigidair.

NOISY! NOISY!
1 Star Review   By lindag on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2012

The look and features of the refrigerator are just fine. In two months, we have not had a problem except for the NOISE. It is a constant intermittent hum that is extremely annoying. (Even our visitors ask what the noise is.) I have never encountered another refrigerator that does this. For this reason alone, I would not buy this refrigerator ever again.

Great design, poor execution
1 Star Review   By Charles on Home Depot - Oct 22, 2012

I purchased this unit in December 2010. In October 2012 the freezer suddenly stopped getting cold enough. Called Frigidaire and they claim it is not under warranty. That's fine, but an appliance costing this much should be better than this and they needed to know about it. This is not the first time, I looked at reviews else where and this is common. It's poor quality, very simple.

Avoid Electrolux & Frigidaire products
1 Star Review   By Matthew on Home Depot - Sep 13, 2012

Bought a suite of Frigidaire Gallery products; Fridge, stove, dishwasher, & hood. Would not recommend this appliance to anyone due to poor design. Entire set of appliances had their own design & quality issues. Avoid Frigidaire & Electrolux (parent company) products. • Freezes milk & water in top shelf when set to 40 degrees • Ice & water dispenser is awful. Dispenses cubes out in varying angles, not straight down, making it difficult to catch all the cubes. Ice tends to come out in large bunches as well. Last cube comes several seconds after dispenser lever has been released, requiring that glass be kept in an awkward position for 3-4 seconds after pressing the lever. Our 10yr old fridge, (also a side by side) had a much better water & ice dispenser. Crush function gets ice everywhere. Neither cube or crushed ice can be used with a rocks glass. • Water is not cold out of the dispenser. Furthermore, water dispenser outlet position requires a 3.5” diameter cup or larger to be used comfortably. Manufacturer claimed this was to accommodate widemouth glasses. However, the dispenser opening is not tall enough for a typical supersized glass. Very difficult for children to use. We attached a length of silicone tube to make it easier. Have to place tube in glass & use fingers on the back of the glass to press the lever. • Frozen pizza shelf is a nice touch, as is the dual crisper drawers & cool drawer. • Anti-fingerprint exterior appears to be effective. Magnets stick well to the surface. • Quiet, we rarely notice that it is running.
