Good size for my apartment. A big plate with cover fits in perfectly. I like the quick start button. I just hated the door. A little annoying to open. Sometimes I have to push hard to a point that I'm pushing the microwave towards to wall just to get it open.

Quiet & Powerful
This replaced a 10 year old Samsung model that was the same size but 1.1 KW. Even though this model has less power, it heats things noticeably faster. It is also much quieter, almost silent. The turntable is about 1" smaller, but the chamber dimensions are the same (the larger turntable from the Samsung will fit).

Microwave works as described
I needed a small counter top microwave that did not take up much room. This product fit the bill. It works as it should and does not look cheap. Perfect for a small kitchen.

Owned for 2 months. Cute little microwave - fits a dinner plate but does not take up too much counter space. Good value for money. Only "negative" is the mechanism to open the door - you have to have strong fingers to push in the button a long ways for the door to pop open.

The power of this small microwave surprised me.
This microwave solved my problem when my microwave attached to my stove quit working. Although the capacity is small, it is quite powerful and I have to adjust my cooking times that I used in my 34 year old Litton combination stove, oven and microwave.

Does the Job and Looks Good
I was looking for a very small stainless steel microwave for an affordable price, nothing fancy, just something to heat up my leftovers and popcorn from time to time. This microwave has met my expectations. Pros: stainless steel (looks nice, especially for the price), works well, compact size, basic buttons/features, simple, the start button is also a +30 second button. Bonus points for fitting perfectly under my toaster oven. Cons: Doesn't stop beeping when you open the door, the button to open the door sticks a little and is also louder to open and close than most microwaves I've used (I have a newborn, so I may be more sensitive to loud noises than most).

Definnitely a step up from my last oven
I really like this microwave oven. It pretty much is as described in the ad. My only complaint is with the button for opening the door. It is very hard to use, and not good for arthritic hands. Like the speed and efficiency this product provides.

This is a great buy
Good buy. Would highly recommend. Compact in size, very good watts for the price.

Great so far as a replacement to my favorite little microwave
This is actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Namely, it does an excellent job of heating the food/ beverage and not the dish or cup it's in. And I love the add 30 seconds button. Hopefully the door will continue to work, as some have had problems with the mechanism wearing out.

Looks Great - Does what it should
This is a great product, it looks great on the counter top and it heats up food too. The power level is just right for reheating food or melting butter for popcorn. Good value without the high price for SS look.

Lot of power for a small unit.
Looks nice and has a lot of power for a little unit. One thing that should be changed on this unit is the number pad. I find it difficult to see gray numbers on black background.

Compact and efficient. Easy to clean
Stainless steel looks nice with other appliances. Plug in and it's ready to go.

Priced right, seems to be great for the small size.
So far so good. Only 2 of us at home, so microwave does not get much use. It is a space saver for sure, much smaller than our old one, but works just as well. Button to open door seems a little hard to push, but it really is no problem.

One week into owning this oven the plastic panel over the buttons started peeling where the buttons are pressed, it isn't supposed to be removed. Took forever to heat anything, also. We were going to box it back up to return and the glass tray fell out and smashed. Going to use this thing as bb gun practice.

Not Safe- Do not recommend
I received this microwave as a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law 12/25/2011. Today is 3/11/12 and I will not use this microwave again. I steamed the oven today and cleaned it as recomended by Magic Chef in the instruction manual. When I went to use it this evening within 5 seconds of it running I heard it making strange zapping noises and turned to see it sparking, arching, and flashing! I ran back to turn it off and make sure no metal was in and tried it again.. the same thing... all of a sudden I have a headache and my face, hands and legs are tingling all over... I would not recommend this product to anyone!

GOOD LITTLE MICROWAVE
Haven't asked it to do much, but it has done everything well. Much more powerful than our old one but still nice and compact. Price was good too for a quality built little micro.

Everything you should expect.
I bought this unit online with in-store pick-up. This was a very convenient way to buy as I had all my research in front of me and was able to commit to a choice knowing when and where I would be able to pick it up. We have limited space and budget but my wife is particular about how things look so this was the winner. It went to work within the hour and has not disappointed since. I like the ability to adjust the programmed buttons, definitely made reading the manual worthwhile.

Changed my mind
I bought this microwave in December 2010. Almost to the day in December 2011, the door opens sporadically. Sometimes I think it's not gonna open at all, but if I keep messing w/ it, it finally does. I wrote a good review of this in December '10 and it's been a good product up until the time is no longer is. I think for the door to stop working in a year represents a faulty product. No more Magic Chef for me!

Looks Good but Coming Apart
The look of the microwave is clean and stylish. It heats food up quickly. My only problem is the wear and tear has already began to show up. THe covering over the buttons is already beginning to peel off. We purchased this microwave the beginning of December. We would recommend for a dorm room, office..not for a lasting impressionable look in your house.

I'm not sure when the first row of numbers stopped working, but less than 3 years old, in the middle of the night, it started running all by itself!! Scared me to death!! Had to unplug for it to stop. That was it. I expected much more from Magic Chef. Will never buy another one.

get this if you can
Love it. Best microwave I've ever owned. Preset buttons first I've ever had that cook or heat to precise temperature for eating and drinking. Plus it looks good and cleans easily.

small but underpowered
searched for 1,000 watt microwave and was directed to this unit only to find it was 900watts. Only has 30 second add feature - unable to set exact cooking time. Unit performed well but did not meet our expectations.

do not want another
this item was purchased 11/12/11, the inside of the door and the top of the door frame where the to touch have been badly burnt while making microwave popcorn, this seems to be a serious problem, my receipt says I have three months to return this item to home Depot I will be doing that today.

Magic Chef Microwave
This is the second Magic Chef microwave I've purchased. The first is still working, the exception, rusting on the inside flooring. Other than that, it lasted years. I hope this purchase lasts as long. Love the easy control panel.

It's a great small size microwave
Love my microwave oven! Looks great, easy to operate, perfect for my needs. Powerful, yet compact so it doesn't take up too much counter space. Love that it has the turntable inside for even cooking. You can't beat the price...got it on sale and have been very pleased :-)

I've had three other microwaves in the past three years, and the Magic Chef is definitely the best. I like the stylish look, but more importantly, there are a ton of features to cook any kind of food you like. I love having the option of selecting a variety of power levels, which I never had on my other microwaves. This is a great product for a reasonable amount of money.

I've only had it for a month but it has lived up to it's advetisement. I baked two potatoes at a time and the came out perfectly.

Great product for the price
I bought this as a replacement for my previous microwave. It works great and is very quiet, which I enjoy. Cooking times are considerably faster with the increased wattage. Only two things I noticed that are very small but not a big deal is that the button system is not intuitive. You HAVE to read the manual to figure it out, which is something most people don't do. And the second is that the opening door doesn't exactly match up with the hinge, so there is a little gap there. Not a functional or big deal, just makes it look slightly cheaper.

Happy with this unit
I bought this microwave for a studio I was renting (owner payed for it). It worked just great for the entire 15 months I lived in that studio (moved out; left it there). I used it frequently; perhaps 5-8 times per week. The power (900 watts) was just great for all-around use. Very happy with it; no complaints.

good so far
We've only had it a few weeks but so far like it better than our old microwave. The defrost features are more user friendly, and are right on for thawing meat. Cooks uickly, too. So far we're very happy with it!

Magic Chef Microwave
Attractive, smaller microwave that doesn't take up so much space. It seems to work well for our needs and we actually prefer using it over the over-the-range microwave in our kitchen.

It's going to be a Christmas present!
I am writing this review on Home Depot's value and promtness. I ordered this microwave for a Christmas gift, so I do not know have a rating for it yet, but as for the price, it couldn't be beat, and the shipping was very very fast and the product looks to be in great shape. I would definitely recommend Home Depot for anybodys Christmas shopping.

This is a great value and has many features not found in this price range. I returned a different model and ended up buying this one. I know this brand is well known for quality products and the other one was just a defect. It happens. The size and power are perfect for me.

JUNK is to nice a word for this microwave. It stopped working about 6 months after I bought it. Local service fixed it in my house. 8 months later it turns itself on and runs for 2 minutes, Ether I've got a ghost or this thing is JUNK! This JUNK has changed the way I think of The Home Depot. If this is what they want to sell to their customers as a good deal I won't shop there any more.

Two quit, 3rd one still running - for now.
I lost faith right away when one of the first two I purchased for the office would not start. Returned it - the replacement fried and died in second week. #3 is still running - for now. We needed a quality unit that would fit in a small space (office setting - no cooking of turkeys - just heating of coffee and left-overs). This one was the ideal size, but not impressive for quality. Depends on what you are looking for...

The first one of these had a major dent in the side when it arrived. I returned it. The replacement also had a dent, but much smaller. I can live with it. It's only an "OK" microwave. The 30-second express cooking controls do not function.

This is the 2nd Magic Chef microwave I've owned.....the first one is still working great (not sure how old it is, but it was left at the house when I bought it and I've been in my house already for 8 years!!!). I've never had to replace anything on the first microwave and am only replacing it with this stainless steel one to match the other kitchen appliances I've had to replace. Love this design and all the material.....other stainless steel ones I've come across do not have a lot of stainless steel. I truly expect this one to have a long life span as my first one.....with proper maintenance and regular cleaning, should not have any problems.

Great quality for the money
Had to replace a 12 year old micro and wanted a mid size model. It cooks the same as it did with my 1100W unit. The door button is a little stiff but I'm sure will loosen up with time. Am pleased with the overall appearance and matches my toaster convection oven nicely. The previous reviews made my decision to give this micro a try. So far am very pleased.

I love my microwave!
After having a 1250 w microwave i expected this smaller version of 0.9 cu ft 900 w would not cook as well. but it does! and i understand it uses a lot less electricity. its darling and easy to use now that I am a widow. i am not losing any of the features of the larger model but gaining some other features that make it easier to use like a quick button, you just hit the number of minutes and you dont have to push any other buttons. love it!

Great little microwave oven
This s GREAT little microwave oven! I purchased it as a replacement for a failed 4-year-old 1200 Watt, 1.0 cu. ft. unit from another manufacturer (they don't make 'em like they used to). In my opinion, the power of the 1200 W unit was too high for the volume and it was nearly impossible to get good results. The power of this microwave is much more appropriate for its size. My only complaint is with the instruction manual -- probably the worst I've ever seen. If they're off-shoring the manufacturing to save money, at least they should hire someone with English language competence and a little bit of technical ability to write (or translate) the manual. Oh yeah, another gripe is that I purchased this for $89.97 six days ago, and it's now twenty bucks cheaper. Buy it while it's so cheap!

Quite Good for Price Paid
The microwave is very sleek and pleasing to the eye. It has a fair number of bells and whistles, when I only need the most basic (as I think is true w/ the majority of folks). But...they're there if need be. The unit works just as it's supposed to and it's quite well made. The exception is that gadget the glass turn table sits on. I think they skimped on it - it seems poorly made, isn't all that sturdy and doesn't always stay in place. Using this microwave is certainly not intuitive....at least not for me. I could not figure out how to program for, say, 30 seconds. Actually, I thought the thing was defective. I read x2 the instruction manual and still didn't understand. So...I started Googling and determined I'm not the only one who didn't know how to make this work. Found that one has to push "Power" first, then the time wanted and then Start. Seems a bit convoluted, but it works. With the above having been said, I like the microwave very much and recommend it. Plus...I got a great deal: on sale for $50 and free shipping. Can't beat that with a stick. I'm not sure I'd be as tickled with my purchase if I'd paid $90 for it...plus shipping.

Pleased with recent Home Depot store purchase
This mid-size 0.9 cu.ft. microwave was just the right size LxWxH for our countertop. Its best feature, the style, matches the stainless steel look in our kitchen. The body of the unit is a nice silver grey metal look. The black areas in the door and controls give it a smart look. The control buttons are user friendly, being easy to see and crisp to use. Light comes on as soon as door opens, however, you need to use your thumb to press on the door button, because it is a little stiffer than the average. Of all the mid-size units out there, this Magic Chef SS microwave works best for us. It was a good purchase/good value.
