Humidifier
4 Star Review   By Anonymous on Nordstrom - Nov 28, 2013

Works well to add moisture to my bedroom. I have dry skin and nasal passages. Lasts about day and a half. I don't mind as I would prefer fresh water each time. It does dribble water somehow. Since I researched more expensive units and customers had reported the same issue, I expected a little water on the table. Reports at another site said the humidifier lasted over a year, other reports said it lasted only a few months. I will hope for over a year or longer.

Easy to use
4 Star Review   By Geroge on Home Depot - Apr 11, 2013

Before we had stuffed up noses and lack of moisture in the air. Use it only when home and not at night. It works well although the humidity level is unknown but it feels better in house. Use it in living area only and not in bedrooms. Wonder why it is not recommeded to be left unattended but I shut it off whenever we are going out.

Love It!
5 Star Review   By kreica on Home Depot - Apr 9, 2013

We had two more expensive humidifiers which broke or leaked within one year of owning. I recently purchased two of these and am very pleased with the ease of use and amount of mist put into air. Kids love it too!

Decent but has it's Cons
4 Star Review   By rick on Home Depot - Feb 27, 2013

Pros and cons. A well performing humidifier. Fill twice a day. Puts out 2 gallons of water a day. Easy to use. Only a few annoyances. There is no auto shut off when you pick up the water tank so you end up spraying water all over the place if you fail to shut it off first. The tear drop tank looks good but it is a poor design. There is no easy way to hold it when filling, very, very klutzy, especially when filling with the weight of a whole gallon! Very easy to drop. Also when you take the tank off to fill it there is a MAJOR drip factor off the bottom of the fill tank so expect to get things wet as to walk to filling it. Nothing deal breaking so i would buy again.

Excellent product
5 Star Review   By HDBUYER on Home Depot - Jan 20, 2013

This is a nice humidifier if you're using it for a small area or one room (the space we use it in is roughly 15' x 17'). It's quiet, although not completely silent, and is efficient. It is also very easy to clean and fill. We plan to buy a second in the near future.

QUIET
5 Star Review   By Bruce on Home Depot - Jan 9, 2013

I got this within 3 days of ordering very nice. I filled it up and turned it on and had to check if it was on till I saw the mist coming out. It makes as much noise as a light bulb. It is small and has a long power cord too. Good for putting moisture in the air.

Good looking units are very portable, easy to set up, easy to use.
5 Star Review   By jeanws on Home Depot - Dec 18, 2012

...ordered two of the humidifiers and they arrived quickly. Took me a couple of refills to figure out exactly how to fill and set up the water reserve, but that's now done in minutes. They are good looking (ordered one blue, one tangerine colored), easy to set up out of the box, use cold tap water, do not require filters, have a one-button feature which turns the unit on/on and adjusts the humidity level, don't leave white dust on the furniture, are quiet, and are very portable. While I haven't done a thorough cleaning yet (as instructed in the product manual), I will probably give it a good cleaning every 2-3 weeks. In the meanwhile I'm not waking up with nosebleeds from the dry winter air in my home; my skin is happy, as are my houseplants! I've used warm mist vaporizers in the past. but do like the cool-mist humidifier. Mine will be running all day and night during the cold weather season. I love using them and have been recommending this particular product to several friends who complain of dry winter air, bronchial issues, nosebleeds, and dry skin. What a relief!

I did not even get to use this humidifier once because the first time I went to fill it, while holding the handle (that was designed to be held!), it cracked and fell into my sink and shattered.

New pellet stove...needed moisture in the air!!
5 Star Review   By rts923 on Home Depot - Feb 8, 2012

We installed a pellet stove in December 2011...and by January, our dog was itching, I was drinking a bottle of water during the night, our sinuses were dry...oh, do we need a humidifier?? After several friends told us that "yes, we use humidifiers with our stoves", we jumped on the band wagon. We bought one for the living room where the stove is, and one for our bedroom. I also purchased a humidity gauge for $10 because how could we tell if we had too much or not enough humidity? Works great,,,easy to use...I am a light sleeper and except for a gurgle now and again. it is very quiet. Would recommend.

So far so good but a bit noisey
3 Star Review   By scubakb on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2012

I've only used it for a week, but thus far it has worked just fine. Everyone says it is quiet, which it is, but only sometimes. You can hear the gurgling of the water now and then so for someone that likes silence when sleeping, this will be slightly bothersome. Other than that, it's great.

Works Perfectly for my Bedroom!
5 Star Review   By shopgirl303 on Home Depot - Nov 6, 2011

This took less than 5 minutes to have up and running. WHITE DUST issue and solution - Some reviewers have noted a white dust and complained about having to use distilled water. The instructions noted that filtered water could also be used in houses with hard water, so I use my Brita water pitcher to fill it up once a day. I wasn't sure if I had hard water so went to e-how, which noted ~80% of houses do and a tell-tale sign is white calcium deposits around faucets. MAINTENANCE - While this does not have a filter, it does take some maintenance. It requires emptying the unit once a day and wiping it dry to prevent bacteria. Once a week, it needs to be cleaned with a vinegar and water solution. PLACEMENT - The instructions noted that it should be placed on a non-wood level service several feet high, at least 4 feet away from walls. This doesn't exist in my house! I plan to buy a small plastic table so I can place in more in the middle of the room and occasionally move it around. The cord is rather short (~4 feet), so this solution will require an extension cord too.

5 Star Review   By DrDry on Home Depot - May 28, 2011

Great for a while - 2 developed cracks and leaked
2 Star Review   By Vnana on Home Depot - Mar 10, 2011

I looked at many styles of humidifiers and reviews online before choosing this one but will not repurchase this. Have had this style unit for 2 seasons and liked the look, operation, tiny night light and that you didn't need a filter with it. Still, after a few months use, the first unit had a crack in it near the base and leaked water out. The manufacturer sent a new unit out and that one also did the same thing recently. Some would say it was probably hit which caused the cracking but that was definitely not the case both times. I suppose it may be the pressure from the water. We used this every night during the winter months. Will not call Crane this time to have it replaced as I'll just look for another unit. Surprised that I haven't seen this problem in reviews here although I did read another one where someone said to not fill it to the top. That may be the reason for the pressure cracks.

Stop reading and buy this already!
5 Star Review   By MisterGooey on Home Depot - Nov 14, 2010

If you have read all the other reviews up until now, they are all true. I bought this humidifier because I kept waking up in the middle of the night with a dry throat and nasty cough. After filling this up (which was a snap even in my shallow bathroom sink) and turning it on, I was so happy to see the happy little mist plume flow from the machine. Not a sound. I turned it on full blast and left the room to sit and moisturize for about 4 hours. When I returned, was I shocked to see my room was actually foggy! I was surprised this little machine could put out so much moisture. Now, a fill-up before bed and no more waking up to any sort of dryness. Great product.

Great Price and Performance
5 Star Review   By GranDiane on Home Depot - Sep 4, 2010

I recently purchased this humidifier after hours of internet research on the various ones out there and agree with those who believe this is the best bet for a room humidifier that won't lighten your wallet too much. I live in a very dry climate and suffer from dry eyes. This does help. You must clean it with a vinegar solution every few does so no red mold builds up. It is pretty easy to do as is filling it. You can adjust the output of humidity as well as the direction and it performs well.

Quiet, Easy Fill, Easy Clean
5 Star Review   By Vincenzo on Home Depot - Apr 3, 2010

This unit does the trick for the smaller size room. Runs very quietly, fills directly from the bathroom faucet, easy to clean and the teardrop shape looks great. Nothing like cool mist for sleeping especially if you suffer with sinus problems and or congestion.

Works great, just too loud for us
3 Star Review   By Jenni232323 on Home Depot - Mar 10, 2010

I did a lot of research before purchasing this humidifier. Home Depot had the best price by about $10 and I knew could return it to the store with ease if needed. The first couple of nights, the humidifier seemed to stop producing mist after about 2 hours. I lifted the water reservoir and set it back down again and the mist resumed. We noticed a difference in our air and even less dry skin while using this. After a couple nights, the unit would make a loud glugging noise similar to an office water dispenser every few hours. The noise was so loud it woke me up, but it may not bother some people. The only other negative was that when carrying the reservoir to refill it, the water on the bottom would drip all the way to my sink (even turned upside down). We ended up turning returning the unit to our local Home Depot who were helpful in refunding our money. Other than the glugging noise (which may have been a defect on that particular unit) this was the perfect cool mist humidifier - small and stylish enough to sit on my nightstand, great control of the amount of mist and direction of mist, could run for min 10 hours.

No Regrets
4 Star Review   By Lonline on Home Depot - Mar 6, 2010

Selected this model for its features (cool mist, auto shut-off, and ability to control both intensity and direction of mist flow) and reasonable price. We have used it daily. Not only has it improved our indoor environment this winter, our plants are thriving.

Humidifier
5 Star Review   By ehb1 on Home Depot - Feb 25, 2010

This humidifier is wonderful. I have been using a warm mist humidifier for a few months to help my sinus issues but it didnt put enough moisture in the air...and I couldnt tell a difference. After one night of having this Crane humidifier on my bedside table I could tell a huge difference. On the high setting it lasts all night and the cool mist it emits is very refreshing. It is silent and perfect. I would recommend this to anyone having sinus issues!

Excellent!
5 Star Review   By nanabear on Home Depot - Feb 18, 2010

This humidifier is the absolute best! Very quiet!!! What little bit of noise it does make (a little bit of bubbles when water is released from the water tank) is in no way disturbing. Been using it now for 2 weeks in our bedroom and I notice feeling much more rested and less congested. We buy reverse osmosis bottled water, so I have not cleaned it yet because I use it every night and don't allow water to remain in it, but when I do clean it the cleaning directions are very simple, unlike the vaporizers or humidifiers you have to soak for hours in straight vinegar. I hope to add more of these to our home for total comfort during these dry winter months. Thanks, Crane!

Ended my night coughing
4 Star Review   By UnclerRich on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2010

I use this little humidifier in my bedroom at night to help with my dry skin and coughing due to dryness. I noticed a positive difference after the very first night. Contrary to my fears, the cool stream of moist air, even directed over my bed, does not produce a chill or dampness on my skin. It seems to dissipate throughout the entire room. If I could make one change, I would eliminate the need to use distilled water. The tap water available to me is rather hard, so I imagine calcium will build up rather quickly, requiring more frequent washing with vinegar water. But over all, the Crane humidifier does exactly what is claimed for it and I am very satisfied.

Easy to use and clean
5 Star Review   By nh222 on Home Depot - Jan 27, 2010

It works great. Takes up little room. It runs very quietly. Does not use a filter. I used tap water at first and noticed a white dust (common if you use unfiltered water in a ultrasonic humidifior). Now, I filter the water through a brita filter- no white dust. You only have to clean it once a week. It doesn't take much time at all and is super easy to do (15-30mins at most).

Quiet, easy to clean, does the job!
5 Star Review   By motherof9monthold on Home Depot - Jan 10, 2010

This is my third humidifier for my 9 month old's room. The first one had a filter that got dirty ALL the time (Holmes brand) and the second was EXTREMELY loud (Vicks). This one by Crane is PERFECT! It's quiet - you can't even tell it's on except for the indicator light or if you turn the output up really high (you can see the mist but still not hear it). I clean it once a week - all you have to do is put water in the tank with a teaspoon of bleach or white vingear and swoosh it around. It's very easy to clean and the spout on top makes it easy to aim the mist where you want it. It also doesn't take up much room. I have mine on the side table in the nursery along with a lamp and small CD player. The table isn't big, but there's room for all of these and extra space for books or a bottle when needed. I run it every day for at least some period of the day or night, and the water will last a week on a low output. Haven't found any bacteria, mildew, etc, and I do clean it once a week. After lots of frustration and worry about the first two humidifiers (loudness and mildew buildup within a day), the crane humidifier has been even better than I expected. Clean, quiet, compact, and it keeps my little one well!

Help for Dry Indoor Air
5 Star Review   By Vnana on Home Depot - Dec 27, 2009

This humidifier is attractive and works well without flowing too much moisture down like our previous humidifier did. The spout swivels and flow is controlled using the dial for the amount of mist you want. It has really helped us with breathing and dryness in the air during the winter months using central heat. My husband said his skin doesn't itch now and I no longer have a dry cough. It does make a slight bubble sound through the night as the water goes into the chamber below but this is not unpleasant or loud. And, the tiny orange light at the bottom isn't too bright. Overall, this is a great humidifier.

Crane Review
5 Star Review   By toyota95 on Home Depot - May 26, 2009

This crane humidifiier has lived up to it's name, thus far. This item was purchased to assist my wife's breathing, due to health issues. Almost immediately, she was able to tell the difference in her breathing once the humidifier was turned on. We have been so pleased with the performance, that we are going to be purchasing the crane "froggy" for our baby's room.

BEST IVE EVER HAD!
5 Star Review   By CalJD on Home Depot - Apr 17, 2009

Ive used humidifiers since I was little and this is the best Ive ever had. I love that its filter-less. I love that the white part on top turns 360degrees so you can aim the steam wherever you'd like. It is totally SILENT! Last night I had to look over and make sure the light was on since its so quiet I thought i forgot to turn it on. The little light in it is so dull you barely notice it but its helpful bc it can tell u, in the dark, how low/high the water is.I love that it shuts off on its own if you run out of water. I love everything about this!! SO happy I got it and would 110% recommend it to anyone and everyone.

i was concerned about the built in light feature, totally not an issue, the light is so dim doesn't bother even my pickiest child. love that you can control how much mist comes out, seems to be perfect solution to the dry winter air. not having a filter to clean is a major plus!
