2 Star Review   By ROYK on Home Depot - Mar 18, 2013

This heater worked well for almost three winters, then is stopped working. I previously had a sears comfort zone electric heater with fan. That worked for over 10 years. I contacted the manufacturer and they do not provide repair parts, so I guess I have to dispose of it. I would not recommend this product. Find an alternative heater.

Excellent heater
5 Star Review   By irishtoast on Home Depot - Jan 27, 2013

I bought two of these to heat my house with, they worked excellent. One just stopped atter 2 seasons and I leave them on non-stop! I don't think people are understanding the concept of "convection " heating. These are not traditional heaters with fans. My parents bought one and did not like it either. If you have your furnace on and it is 70 or 80 degress in the room..it is probably not going to do you any good. This is not a warm your feet heater. This works on the premise of cold air being attracted to a heating element and being forced because heat rises. If your room is warm there is no air to warm. I warm a 300 square foot family room with only this heater mind you and it keeps the room at 78 degrees! I bought another model (Holmes) and though is works great (it cost more, I only bought it because I could not find one of these) this one tells you the temp in the room and I like that. These work great. Turn the heat off in the room and just let it warm it up, it does a great job. People cannot believe how warm my house is and, my electric bill has been cut in half!

Terrible buy
1 Star Review   By Mary on Home Depot - Jan 27, 2012

Purchased the heater thinking it would heat up my 10x10 office. After having it plugged in for 4 hrs, the room was still cold. The only area that was warm was directly near the heater. Terrible product. I returned it.

This heater worked for a whole 3 months and then doesn't work. All the lights work, but it doesn't heat. From review's read its the fuse? I have portable heater from 1991, and no issues! This is just garbage.

This heater is junk . It is not worth the money . I have had three of them and they all burnt out when you put the setting on 1500 W and if it happens to get knocked over it will not come on anymore . It will not reset or heat up . I would not purchase another one of these units .

They work
5 Star Review   By Turquoisedealer on Home Depot - Nov 22, 2011

I have two of the heaters inside the house. One in the kitchen and one in a downstairs bedroom. I have them both set on 750 and they are keeping the house at an average of 45 degrees, that's what I wanted.

Really good but not great
3 Star Review   By IMzippy on Home Depot - Sep 24, 2011

When propane went to $3.00 a gallon I went out and purchased 3 of these heaters to help supplement my heating expense. Out of the box, one wouldnt work and needed to be returned. I plugged in the other two---and man did they work well. My house is 2200 sq ft fairly well insulated home in rural Connecticut...so its a cold winter. With just one heater downstairs and one upstairs I heated my entire house for the rest of the winter for $250 a month. Propane would have cost me $600- which I never turned on again with these heaters. I never replaced the 3rd one--but even with 2, my house was toasty.

3 Star Review   By coldinmaine on Home Depot - May 30, 2011

I bought two of these, the first I used every day for five months then it just stopped working. The second didn't work right out of the box. When it works its a great product, but save your receipt as it may not work for long or at all.

total waste of money!
1 Star Review   By vertybluedog on Home Depot - Mar 4, 2011

bought this heater because heating oil is so expensive, i wanted to help make our last fill up last longer. I used the heater for 6 days and it quit working. I bought 3 lasko heaters and they work great and i have turned off my oil furnice for the rest of the saeson and the house is warmer now than it ever has been.I will take this back and get another lasko heater to take its place.

Soleil LH888 Baseboard Heater
1 Star Review   By TaDa05 on Home Depot - Feb 22, 2011

This heater looks very nice, however, it doesn't work. This must have been someone elses return because there were no directions in the box with the heater and push buttons as we may, no heat. Taking this boat anchor back for a refund.

NOT GOOD heat regulation
1 Star Review   By SCShivers on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2011

The controls on this heater stink. You can't turn the heat down below 70 degrees and the numerous buttons and temp controls are overly complicated. About all we can do with this one is turn it on and turn it off again when it gets too hot. Won't buy this brand again. We'll stick with the Lasko heaters from now on.

DO NOT buy!
1 Star Review   By mdkmom on Home Depot - Jan 18, 2011

This heater was purchased 3 days ago and I am sending back. I wish I would have read all these reviews first, but we were at the Home Depot and not online! I even bought the extended warranty- sure wont be needing that! This heater worked for about 5 hours and it was awesome heat at first! I shut it off cuz it warmed up the room plenty and would NOT work again! VERY DISSAPOINTED... and the closest Home Depot is over 1 hr from our house!!

The base board heater.
4 Star Review   By onebad95ford on Home Depot - Dec 12, 2010

Hello, I purchased one of the baseboard style heaters from home depot to heat parts of my 14x78 mobile home. Its a very well insulated mobile home, new windows, new doors, holds heat very well. I went to home depot in search of finding a portable heater that I could depend on for use in my living room. aprox a 14x31 foot room and a small halway with a full bath. I wanted either one heater wich would do the trick or two smaller heaters. I looked at all there options wich were plentyful but the one that cought my eye was the base board heater. Slim, light weight, good looking. I bought two of them, not knowing if one would be enough for the room. They are thermostate controlled and have a couple different forms of operating functions. The first day I plugged them in and instant heat, I set the thermostate to its lowest setting wich happens to be 70. And let the two heaters do there thing. Withing an hour the room was up to temp and the thermosates kicked them off. I decided to turn one of the hearters off and heat the 14x31 foot room with one heater wich one heater did just fine. The room stays at roughly 70 degrees. Wich is ok with me but I would almost prefer a 68 degree room set. But I can live with 70. That is definatly the biggegs downfall of this heater to me. I would most definatly suggest this heater to some one needing to heat a large well insulated area. The heater makes no noise so you rarely know when its on other than the blast of hot air that it produces. In the end result. This base board heater is doing its job well and im 98% happy with this appliance. Would suggest it to almost anyone.

Good purchase if it was reliable
2 Star Review   By jonniebo on Home Depot - Dec 9, 2010

I purchased this heater about 4 weeks ago. The heating portion of the heater just stopped providing heat. The lights and front panel indicate no problem. When it worked it heated the room nicely. I like the heaters ease of use and lite weight. I don't like that you can't set the temp any lower than 70F. It has two settings, 750 watts and 1500 watts. The 750w setting heated my 14 x 12 room nicely. Needed to set to 1500w setting to warm my 17 x 13 room. I would only recommend if they improved the reliability.

Forget it
1 Star Review   By meoverhere on Home Depot - Nov 30, 2010

Had it for about 3 weeks of heating season, then went off never to heat again. Useful only for a foot stool. Directions had poor grammar...what's that tell you? Got perhaps 15 hours total out of it.

Baseboard heater
1 Star Review   By WamingUp on Home Depot - Nov 16, 2010

Sorry, I really wanted to like this heater. I bought two for a large room and only one would work. I returned the one that did not work and the replacement lasted one day. I returned it for a refund. It seems like these have short lives unless I was just unlucky. It did work well when it was working.

Poorly designed themostat
2 Star Review   By tmda on Home Depot - Nov 13, 2010

This heater definitely provides fast intense heat that is suitable for large rooms. However, what attracted me to this model was the thermostat, which turned out to be a big disappointment. You cannot set the temperature below 70 degrees! Are you kidding me? Considering the fact that the digital thermometer on the unit measures about 2-3 degrees colder than reality (according to my accurate separate room thermometer), a temperature setting of 70 will be too warm for most people. On almost all other portable heaters I've seen, you can set the temperature down to the 60s or colder. This is the main reason I returned it.
