Almost no complaints
4 Star Review   By Spector on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2013

Does a great job of quickly heating my 400 sq. ft. studio. My one complaint is that the lowest setting is not that low. It's still a roaring fire which I don't always need.

this product is a great value
5 Star Review   By Camaroguy on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2013

The heater works great, a huge upgrade from my torpedo heater, heats the area very quick, I read other reviews about how loud it is, and its not that loud at all even on high. I really am happy with this heater and glad I bought it for working out in the garage, here in Michigan winters.

Good, but limited use.
4 Star Review   By BScrivener on Home Depot - Apr 23, 2013

I have an uninsulated, gap-filled 1 1/2 storey barn in Northern Maine, with a roughly 825 square foot floor, which was a bit ambitious for this heater. The heat goes straight up, so be sure to use a fan: the added air does burn through propane quickly. In 20 degrees, it did nothing; in 35 degrees, it made a difference. I'm certain that when I get the gaps in the walls covered, this heater will be great. As one reviewer wrote, it takes a good minute, holding down the knob on the first try, to ignite it. After that, easily lit.

Works Great
5 Star Review   By DanP on Home Depot - Apr 10, 2013

Bought this job heater to dry out a flooded house. It worked better than my old one which was 250,000 BTU's. the smaller size lets you use it in smaller rooms.

an effective propane heater
4 Star Review   By MikeG on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

I use this propane heater in my workshop/garage (2 car) and it does the job well. A couple of observations: -1- when lighting you need to hold in the control for a count of 50 or more -2- the flame is near max when the lighting process is complete, from there you can turn it lower though -3- I prefer this type of heater because is is fairly quiet I've had this about 2 months now. So far so good.

all pros and just one con
4 Star Review   By Brian on Home Depot - Feb 17, 2013

I bought this to heat my garage. its about 1000sq. feet, uninsulated, and the people door and windows leak badly. I decided on this one because it says it will heat 2000sq. feet. After about an hour on max setting we were in t-shirts. I don't know what temperature it was inside, but the outside temperature was barely 20 degrees F outside. For the people saying its loud, if you've ever had or heard one of the kerosene heaters, this is much quieter than that. we are able to talk with ease right next to it. The only con I have is the flame. On max the flame will exceed the enclosure a little bit. it makes me nervous where I will not leave it unattended. All in all if you're looking for something to heat a three car garage and you don't want a kerosene heater because of the costs to buy it and the cost of kerosene, this will do the job and then some. I heated the garage for about 8 hours and there is still plenty of propane, all be it, I did turn it to its lowest setting after about an hour

Screened Patio Review
4 Star Review   By Cigarguy on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

I bought this product to warm me up on my back patio on chilly evenings. My patio is 10x30, enclosed on three sides with a screened in front section. i like to sit outside, watch TV and enjoy a cigar. This heater serves its purpose. If it's 35 F or up, it will keep you warm as long as you are sitting next to it. It does not do a great job of heating the entire enclosure (obviously because of the open side). It's Easy to assemble. Not too loud.

Nice unit for the price.
4 Star Review   By JackieBloo on Home Depot - Feb 12, 2013

The unit came with very simple assembly. The reason I had bought it for my garage and maybe as emergency heat for the house. They could probably be more forward with the fact that it needs adequate ventilation when used indoors.

Propane heater has worked as I'd hoped -
5 Star Review   By SDP1 on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2013

I've used the torpedo heaters in the past and this tower unit delivers similar heat. I've been looking for a unit that is more reliable (less moving parts) over the long term and I think this is it! The nice part about this unit is that it’s light weight and can be manually lit if the auto igniter gets fouled. Safety is critical when one attempts to lit the unit manually. I’ve own my unit for a month and it has performed as advertised. I got the best price via their website.

A great garage heater

Great heater!
5 Star Review   By Chris on Home Depot - Jan 28, 2013

Not sure why people are complaining about it being loud. It is hardly loud at all. Heated my 3 car garage fast on high and then moved to low to keep the temp stable. It does eat a lot of gas on high.

Great Garage Heater!
5 Star Review   By BoatProject on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2013

I bought this product to heat my garage (with the door cracked BTW) in order to work on projects in the garage. Crack the door, turn this heater on and in about 10 minutes its 70 degrees in there. I can then shut the door, turn the heater off and work for several hours (depending on outside air temps) until I have to do it again. Works great! Be advised this heater is a bit noisy - not bad, but essentially you have a VERY big burner running. I would not call it bad even though I checked the con on noisy.

Easy to set-up
4 Star Review   By wilk on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2013

Unit produces a lot of heat and will raise the temperature in my 24x30 shop 10 degrees in about 15 minutes. Only draw back is it does not burn efficiently (too much yellow flame) and cannot be adjusted to burn a good blue flame. You definitely need to follow instructions and open doors/windows for ventilation. Over all I am pleased with performance.

horrible
1 Star Review   By jennymaygo on Home Depot - Jan 12, 2013

This was a horrible purchase. My garage is not that big and shouldn't take long to heat up. It barely did. You would think that standing next to it would be better but it wasn't. Felt like I needed a hammock hanging above the thing to get warm. Waste of money!! Going out to try something different. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!

Honestly not what it said it was
1 Star Review   By freezinginCO on Home Depot - Jan 3, 2013

My husband bought this for his shop. I walked up and it was not radiating any heat at all. While conversing with my husband I watched how close he was standing to it and was expecting him to back off from the heat. He was so close his pants were touching the side and it was as if it werent there. The heat was going straight up with absolutely no radiating heat. Very disappointed. Used A LOT of propane with minimal impact.

Not sure about indoors
4 Star Review   By Robb on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2013

I'm really not sure about using this indoors. It works great but it is a huge semi open flame. I don't think I'm comfortable using it in my garage.

WOW, this baby cooks!!!! with outside temps about 30,made my 3 car semi insulated garage an oven in about 20 mins. Had to turn the darn thing off and open a door to cool off. Definately will do the job when temps really fall......definately a must have item!!!

Good for jobsite not home.
5 Star Review   By MStover1 on Home Depot - Dec 5, 2012

I bought this for the back porch however the heat does not radiate out in a 360 degree radius nor does it claim to. I have a low back roof on my porch so I wanted to give it a try. I moved it to work where it works great in areas that have enclosed open areas such as my steel building and job sites (unfinished homes) that are in framing stage with windows installed. We are an HVAC company so when the boys go out to do a duct installation and it's cold they sure do move quicker. I'll find something else for the back porch but this baby cranks it out !!!

Very good space heater (outdoor)
5 Star Review   By MJG412 on Home Depot - Oct 16, 2012

Used this heater on an outdoor patio/deck during a party. Worked very well to keep people warm outside. Seems like it would be a really good tailgating heater as well. Easy to assemble and operate. Quiet operation and no electricity necessary. I like that you can adjust the heat settings. Even on low this thing puts off the heat.

Bring on the cold
5 Star Review   By Christopher on Home Depot - Oct 15, 2012

I was using a forced air kerosene heater for about a year and it started having problems. 2nd one to do this. Wont stay running blah blah... Not to mention kerosene at $4 gallon. So my brother had one of these and he brought it out for the weekend. It heated my 800SF garage all weekend on a 20lb tank. It was in the 20's outside and a in the 70's inside. The noise compared too the forced air kerosene is minimal. We also live in a house with all electric heat. Now if the power goes out in the winter, I could take this inside and use as emergency heat without worrying about the fumes with our dogs. If you are looking to heat a garage or shed that you want to spend some hours in over the winter, this is the heater you want. Dont know how I ever did without one!

Awesome for camping
5 Star Review   By ponced24 on Home Depot - May 12, 2012

Recently went camping at a campground that didn't allow campfires and my friend brought this. We live in Washington state and it got down to about 38 degrees when we brought it out. Not only did it keep us warm but lasted a lot longer than I thought. He used a 1gal propane tank and it lasted almost 4 hours on low! This is now on my birthday list.

easy to assemble and easy to use. heats a large uninsulated garage with out a problem. some of the other reviews said it was loud, i found it to be very reasonable. the only down side is that it can burn through propane in a hurry. on a 20# tank i can run it for 10 to 15 hours.

I have a greenhouse which needed some heat on the few cold nights we are having, so far it has worked out well, I light it up about 5AM for a 2 hour period on low, keeps the temp at about 80 degrees, when the outside is below freezing.
