Poor quality
1 Star Review

Strengths: size(compact don't take up much space)

Weakness: Don't last(goes out after a year

This product is really poor in quality,it only has a year warranty therefore you're force to pay for an extended warranty which only covers parts and labor....my message, NEVER BUY A MAGIC CHEEF,EVER!

5 Star Review   By Janjamin on Home Depot - Oct 26, 2009

With a 4 kids to feed, buying bulk made it convience to make weekly menu. The added saving of buying bulk butter, ice cream, frozen vegatable, fish, chicken, beef, hot dogs, ground turkeys and beef made the food budget stretch. I have had it for over Five years and it is as good as the first days I got it.

Great for kegerators and wine refrigerators
5 Star Review   By KegeratorReviewer on Home Depot - Sep 24, 2008

I purchased the Magic Chef freezer over a year ago, and have had absolutely no problems. This unit is great from making either a kegerator or a wine refrigerator. Just add a Johnson Control refrigerator thermostat, for about $50, and you can precisely control the temperature of your beer or wine. The freezer will fit one keg, or three 1/6 barrels of beer, and is very energy efficient. I have mine in the garage, where it reaches temperatures of over 100 degrees during the summer, and it still only uses about 1/3 Kilowatt of electricity per day (I measured this with a watt meter). Best of all, it is lined with galvanized steel, and is not painted, so moving kegs around does not damage the freezer’s interior.

I highly recommend this freezer. We lost power @ 2:30 am on saturday and the meat was still frozen/extremely cold on wednesday. i never used the generator on it at any time. very good product.

worked ok for 1 year, then stopped working
1 Star Review   By catfishjonjon on Home Depot - Jun 28, 2008

I can't recommend this freezer because it just stopped working after 1 year of use. A service call to have it fixed would cost nearly as much as buying a new one. Stay away from Magic Chef brand!
