Very Disappointed
2 Star Review   By member va_best - May 30, 2015

I purchase this dishwasher because of the user reviews. Not a very good dishwasher. Don't have trouble with the cleaning, but the drying and silverware tray that's another story. So the 1st thing that I notice are the wet dishes. Second thing I notice is the silverware tray. When I'm loading, unloading or opening the door the silverware, the tray opens and silverware is on the floor. I'm going get rid of this crap and buy a new one. I call myself replacing a Whirlpool that's 16 years old and it worked fine. I just wanted everything to match. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the tray.

Problematic door
4 Star Review   By diane on Home Depot - Jun 7, 2013

Dishwasher is quiet and efficient but the door does not stay open. Tech has made two repair visits so far to correct the situation but unfortunately they were unsuccessful. Tightened and replaced door springs which did nothing, so they were probably not the reason at all. HD salesperson said that is just the way this dishwasher works. My lesson DO NOT BUY on line Go to the store and try it out. Recently I moved the cutlery tray to the main pull out draw where the dishes go and the situation improved. Takes away some dish room but at least I don't get anymore black and blues on my thighs!

Super quiet
5 Star Review   By Gidget on Home Depot - Jun 5, 2013

I had a really old, really noisy dishwasher that never got things completely clean, so I might not be the best judge; however, this machine is so quiet you will forget that it's running and the dishes come out sparkling. Definitely a good purchase. I love the upper rack only option.

Great Dishwasher!
5 Star Review   By jmm150 on Home Depot - Jun 4, 2013

We have had this DW installed for a few weeks now and it is really a great appliance! Super quiet, you can barely hear it running and it has really great features. It looks great with the buttons hidden on the top. We especially love that the silverware it housed in the door and not in the main rack. It gives us so much more room for plates etc.

Quietest Dishwasher ever made
5 Star Review   By prassy on Home Depot - May 28, 2013

Ordered this from the website sight unseen (except for the picture). I was pleasantly surprised by the nice stainless steel look. It is not that plastic, made to look like stainless steel material. So, it ties in with my existing real stainless appliances perfectly. Also, I like the controls on the top of the door. It makes for a sleek, modern look on the outside (no controls or dials showing). I have also noticed that this is the quietest dishwasher on the planet. I turn it on and actually have to lay my ear on the door or open the door to see if it is running. This would be a great dishwasher if your kitchen is near your family room, TV or entertaining areas, because it's so quiet. The only thing kind of annoying is when my hands are wet, which they usually are when loading the dishwashwer, I get water on the front of the door because I have to pull the handle to open the dishwasher to load it. I just have to remember to wipe it off with a dry towel. There are just too many good things to say about this dishwasher. If you decide to purchase, you will not regret it.

Best Dishwasher I ever Purchased
5 Star Review   By Sleuthdaddy on Home Depot - May 28, 2013

When it came time to replace my old dishwasher, I looked around for something in the $500 to $600 range, and found the Whirlpool Gold Series. After reading a bunch of reviews, and seeing very high ratings, I made my purchase; it was even on sale, saved about $60 over the regular price. Delivery and installation went very smoothly, no problems. Been using the unit for now for one month. It works very well; it's quiet; does an excellent job.

Excellent bang for your buck
5 Star Review   By JenS on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

This dishwasher looks sleek while cleaning large loads of dishes. The silverware rack is in the door, which frees up space for dishes. I love that the buttons are on the top of the dishwasher so that my "helpful" two-year-old can't get to them. It's quiet and gets the job done.

It's So Pretty
4 Star Review   By HomeCEO on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

My purchase was based on budget and reviews. I believe I got the best unit for my budget. Love the sleek look of the stainless steel and the buttons hidden from sight. The unit is uber quiet. The tub seems huge compared to my previous model and there is plenty of room and several options for stacking. In its 3 weeks of use, I've come up with a couple of utensils that weren't thoroughly clean, which was a prep/stacking fail on my part. I'm less satisfied with the drying feature. Even with the blue stuff, dinner dishes have to be hand dried in the morning and are spotty. It's a personal issue, but I don't 'feel' the dishes are as sanitary sitting wet all night.

Grrrrr
2 Star Review   By WIcouple on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2013

First week the jet dry compartment was leaking, had it replaced. Cleans dishes and is quiet but plan on drying all dishes before putting them back. Silverware basket was not thought out well. The basket sits too close to the dispenser which makes it impossible to get silverware in and out so plan on not being able to use half the slots on that side unless you put the basket on the bottom rack. Even then if you put butter knives on that side of the basket it still get hung up on the dispenser. Wish we could return it. Not worth the price I paid.

4 Star Review   By Decordr on Home Depot - Apr 29, 2013

I like the looks, but the utensil holder leaves a lot to be desired' The 15 year old Whirlpool I replaced was much better. saved it hoping it would work in the new one. to bad it wouldn't fit.It had a small METAL CLIP that kept it closed until I easily opened it . Some times change isn't good.

Loooove this dishwasher!!
5 Star Review   By eyedawg on Home Depot - Apr 11, 2013

We finally upgraded our half broken dishwasher to this one and wow what a difference. This one holds an amazing amount of dishes- our big plates in the bottom and large tervis cups on the top. It is so quiet I can hardly tell its running. Home Depot has such great delivery and installation, it's hard to beat. Highly recommend.

Looks nice but doesn't clean well
2 Star Review   By Vleigh23 on Home Depot - Apr 9, 2013

We've had this dishwasher a little over a month. There have already been several instances in which I've had to re-wash/hand wash silverware after a cycle. I can also see lip marks on some of the glasses (& I don't even wear lipstick)! This is our first time to have the silverware on the door (as opposed to bottom rack) and based on the results, I won't be doing it again. We are selling our house soon, so I am glad it looks nice.

Really like my new dishwasher. We have really hard water in the hill country and I've noticed a difference on the glasses. They are looking clear again. Much quieter. I like the design. The silverware basket is different. Didn't like having it in the door. Just easier placing it in the main area.

After doing lots if research on dishwashers we decided on this one. We are very happy with the dishwasher. It's very quiet and does a great job of cleaning the dishes. You must use a rinse aid to get the dishes to come out dry, but we're very happy with the unit.

I was not sure if i should purchase this unit at first, I had a budget I wanted to work with. When I went on line and priced the unit the cost came out less than my budget, We had Home Depot install. Everything went perfect, and the unit exceeds our expectations in quality of wash and noise.

High quality at a good price
5 Star Review   By DaveCT on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2013

High quality dishwasher. Was very easy to install except for my plumbing problems that had nothing to do with the dishwasher. This dishwasher is very quiet. First tried dishwasher without the drying agent and things didn't completely dry. When we used the recommended drying agent things were perfectly dry. I like how you can mount the silverware tray on the outside of the lower rack to save space. The only slight complaint I have is that since the control panel is hidden and it is so quiet I don't know when it is done. Definitely recommend.

Product works as expected
4 Star Review   By PhillyCarpenter on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2013

The dishwasher is quiet. It cleans well. Soneone needs to rethink and redesign the installation method and location of the connections so that a person does not have to be on the floor trying hard to see things and work in tight spaces. Installation instructions are disorganized and confusing. Once I crossed out what are not applicable in my case, I was able to proceed.

Good but not great.
3 Star Review   By Quintanaroo on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2013

It looks nice, and it cleans the dishes well. The problem is mostly with drying. It does not dry the dishes at all. The are soaked and the inside of the machine is never dry. It also could have better racks for organizing. I guess it does the job for the most part, I am just left a little disappointed.

Better than KitchenAid
5 Star Review   By HomeownerinGA on Home Depot - Dec 18, 2012

We renovated our kitchen 8 years ago and bought all KitchenAid appliances. I can't remember the model #, but we had the ~$900 dishwasher. I was never happy with it, the dishes had to be thoroughly pre-rinsed, if any food was left on the dishes it would still be there after the wash cycle. I tried every setting and really never had great results. Also, the top rack never really got very dry. We are about to sell our house and of course the dishwasher broke shortly before going on the market. We wanted something nice, but didn't want to put a lot of money into it. This Whirlpool dishwasher had good reviews for a more reasonable price tag than the KitchenAids. We have had it now for over a month and it has been GREAT! The dishes come out super clean and dry and we don't even have to pre-wash. The dishwasher is also very quiet. Also, having the silverware in the door gives you a lot more room for dishes. We are extremely pleased with this dishwasher and would very highly recommend it to anyone.

Great price for all the features
5 Star Review   By pollycharlie on Home Depot - Dec 4, 2012

I particularly love the Sani wash cycle where water is heated to 160F and it disinfects dishes. This module doesn't come with the scrubbing power wash feature, but I find that if I just soak the casserole dish over night, the normal cycle washes it just fine. The crew that installed and removed my old dishwasher was professional and quick. I was especially impressed that they called me on Thanksgiving day to confirm delivery the next day. It was great customer service all around.

good dishwasher
4 Star Review   By smilesalot on Home Depot - Dec 4, 2012

The dishwasher was to replace my broken one.( had a viking previously-this one is much better) It cleans well and is unbelievably quiet! So quiet that if one person starts a load and forgets to tell the other, you open it by accident! It doesnt have a built in garbage disposal, so you need to scrape plates, but we do anyways. Its my understanding that if you get the disposal in one , it makes it rather loud and that's not what my family wanted. There is a resume button, or we'd be rerunning dishes like crazy! Basic features ( heavy, pots and pans, regular and eco wash with 2 dry options) The rack on the door is very inconvenient, so we moved it to the inside basket. It is nice having that option for very full loads. The rack spaces are nice and wide so even my thick porcelain plates fit. The first running was with a house party of 40 people and it didnt skip a beat! Dishes looked great whole time and since so quiet I could actually RUN the dishwasher with company present and not have it be disruptive....something I could not do with my last one.We got the dishwasher from Home depot on sale so it was a great price ! Only down is top rack doesnt dry 100%(Tops of the bottom of cups where the water collects) , but no one I know has found one that does. Overall great dishwasher!

AWESOME DISHWASHER
5 Star Review   By Marcus on Home Depot - Dec 2, 2012

Purchased a basic Frigidare dishwasher to replace the one that had been installed in my home over five years and needless to say the dishwasher lasted about 5 yrs.. so I was looking to upgrade to a more modern and low decibel dishwasher.. came across this model of Whirlpool online... Awesome dishwasher for the price.. although they didn't have this model in the Home Depot store I took a chance and bought it .. the installation took about 20 min and I give this dishwasher 5 stars.. its quiet and has so many energy saving features..Whirlpool appliances are built well

Installation was pretty straight forward, but I discovered after the fact that the hole in my cabinetry is slightly larger than the width of this dishwasher, and so part of the sound deadening material can be seen on one side. I'm not sure how to close this gap without affecting the closing of the door, and I wonder if this also allows more noise to escape during operation. In any case, be aware that it is in fact 23.875 inches wide and will leave a small gap in a 24" wide hole. Several things combine to make the interior very spacious: lack of center post on the bottom rack, two position adjustable top rack, and silverware rack that sits on the door or on the end of the bottom rack instead of within the bottom rack. I also appreciate that the top rack has adjustable tines and clips to hold light items. The silverware rack can be placed within either the top or bottom rack if desired, which is helpful when using the Top Rack Wash option. The filter is self-cleaning in so far as exhaust water is run through it during the drain cycle and this takes most of the debris out, although it still needs to be cleaned manually 2-3 times a year. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a hard food disposal, but brands that do tend to not be as quiet or as reliable (according to Consumer Reports). The controls are top-mounted and partially hidden when the door is closed. Unfortunately, the LEDs that indicate that the machine is running are above the buttons instead of below them, and consequently are hard to see when the door is closed. It would have been nice to have a status light to indicate when the machine is running, or a screen to indicate the cycle stage and time remaining. I do appreciate that there is a Clean light that illuminates when the cycle is done, and it stays on until you close the door after opening it. I normally use the Sensor cycle and have also used the Top Rack Wash and Eco cycles. I always scrap/sponge off the dishes before loading, but never pre-rinse, and all cycles have returned clean dishes. A typical cycle runs about 1 hour 45 minutes. I did notice initially that it would not entirely clean some heavily soiled dishes or silverware. After reading the manual, I discovered that best performance requires that hot water be available to the machine at the beginning of its cycle, which can be done by running the hot water tap nearest the dishwasher before beginning a cycle to clear any cold water in the lines. I do this by washing any non-dishwasher items in hot water at the sink before running the dishwasher, and it has noticeably improved cleaning performance. I'm guessing that because it uses so little water, the water temperature will remain too low during the wash cycle if hot water is not immediately available. I did notice that sometimes dishes are not dried completely. At first I thought this was because the vent was not opening, but a technician confirmed that it actually has a main and backup vent-opening mechanism, and both are working properly. According to the tech, the user manual, and what I can find online: The use of rinse aid is necessary (especially if you have hard water) for dishes to dry properly, and it helps to crack the door open after the cycle is completed so more steam can escape. I've found these two steps to help in making sure my dishes are dry a few minutes after the cycle is over. Also, the tub is plastic and may take a few months' worth of normal use to season. Overall, I'm very pleased. My parents came by and immediately liked my unit. When their dishwasher died this week, they said they were going to look into buying one of these. Whirlpool also manufactures KitchenAid, and for something quieter I would have liked the 46 dB (KUDE60FXSS) or 41 dB (KUDE70FXSS) KitchenAid models with their convenient third culinary utensil tray (great for cleaning large flat objects like microwave turntables or baking sheets). But they're nearly 3x the cost. For the cost, this Whirlpool is great.

I have never used such a horrible dishwasher in my life. It looks great, it's sturdy, everything about it seems wonderful.. until you attempt to use it. I have read the manual and used "heavy", "high heat dry", even "hi temp wash" and "sani rinse"... and grief every time they come out wet (even days later) and half of the dishes are dirty (I pre-clean them too!!). Ridiculous.
