dishwasher will do the job intended.
4 Star Review   By Jimbo on Home Depot - Jun 4, 2013

This is my second whirlpool dish washer. Last one Lasted 8 years. Is that good?? This dishwasher does a good job cleaning the dishes but it doesn't dry the dishes. Its suppose too. Hmmm. Not Happy about that. The layout of the racks seem to make it smaller than my old one. Silverware tray is not user friendly. Delivery and installation was fast and professional.

nice product
4 Star Review   By Washerman on Home Depot - May 21, 2013

Relatively easy to install. Works well, pretty quite. Isn't a huge capacity, but that's ok. Over night and economy mode you barely even notice its on. Decent looking. Don't know about durability yet but over the last month so far so good.

This product could have been built better
2 Star Review   By ljj777 on Home Depot - May 14, 2013

This dishwasher is not quiet although quiet package was promised. It would be impossible to make it quiet! It shipped w/o installation package as paid for. Customer service was a helpful as much as it could be given the quality of product.

Great deal.
5 Star Review   By Shooter on Home Depot - Apr 23, 2013

Paid $400.00 include new stainless water line, delivery, installation and hauled the old one off. Looks great, runs quiet and has a very sturdy rack system. The installers were on time, very polite, extra clean. Very pleased with the whole deal. Now if I can get my wife to cook something we can dirty some dishes and use it.

I miss the rinse and hold feature
4 Star Review   By Bunny on Home Depot - Apr 9, 2013

It works as it should, the only problem I have had was with the eco wash, I set the unit for eco wash and for a heat dry but the next morning every things was still wet. Now one of the best features is the 1 hour wash, love that one.

Excellent dishwasher
5 Star Review   By WCwasher on Home Depot - Feb 26, 2013

We bought this dishwasher a month ago and are very happy with the performance. Dishes come out very clean - no spots or residue. The racks hold a lot of dishes of different sizes. Silverware rack is a bit finicky, depending on which utensil we insert (large fork/spoon handles don't fits the slots very well, but it's dependent on the utensil style you have), but they are very well cleaned. Great low-price dishwasher.,

Very Good Features and Very Quiet
5 Star Review   By BusyFloridaMom on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

This dishwasher is so quiet that I have put my ear up to it several times to see if it's working. It has been designed to overcome the problems old dishwashers have with the mandated dishwasher detergent with no phosphates. I especially like the sani-rinse option. The long wash cycle (up to three hours) surprised me at first - but I guess it is necessary because the non-phosphate dishwasher detergents aren't as effective as those with phosphate. The tall tub enables me to wash my biggest cookie sheets and pots in the dishwasher. I don't care for the slotted feature in the flatwear/utensil basket - but they can be lifted up out of the way. My son thought the racks were 'light weight' - and not in a good way - but only time will tell if they are durable enough for our family. Finally, oddly there was no owner's manual - only an installation manual. I was able to locate one online and have downloaded it onto my computer. Overall I am very pleased so far.

It cleans well
5 Star Review   By Randy on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

I like the nylon rack. The prongs kept rusting off on my last dishwasher. It takes longer to wash the dishes but the literature says it still is saving energy. A rinse aid solution is mandatory for dry dishes but it seems to be used sparingly.

Good Bang for the Buck!
4 Star Review   By BMAC on Home Depot - Feb 7, 2013

For a 400.00 dollar dishwasher it is a good value. It is quiet and cleans the dishes well. It comes with a quick start guide which will get you going but if you want the entire 40+ page owners manual you need to go online and download it. I ordered it online and it took two weeks to get it. I had to contract a private installer as my old dishwasher was hardwired directly to an outlet.Check your old dishwasher for how it is hooked up, if you do not see a plug-in outlet underneath the sink area it may be hardwired . HD will NOT install a dishwasher that has a hardwire conection.

no complaints
4 Star Review   By jrosstx on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2013

Looks good, clean dishes well. The silverware trays on the door which gives you more room in the bottom but can be frustrating getting silver in. I always take it out.fill it,then put it back in. Top rack has its own water jets so top rack always get clean no matter what you have on the bottom, that's a plus. Normal cycle does take a couple hours but you have an option to make it faster, just less energy effecient. And I cant imagine you save money(energy effecient)because you have to buy the drying agent. Overall though for the money spent very pleased. I cant imagine a dishwasher thatcost 3 times as much being that much better

Only used once
5 Star Review   By SRMNV on Home Depot - Feb 2, 2013

I just had it installed a few days ago and finally got to use it last night. Just like everyone says it's quiet, runs for quite awhile but does a great job on the dishes. The door seems a little too tight and 'creaky". Did anyone else have this issue? I wonder if I should call them back to adjust it or if it will get better with use?

Great product, cleans dishes well, very quiet!
4 Star Review   By DedicatedMom on Home Depot - Nov 6, 2012

This is a great product. It cleans the dishes well and is very quiet and looks great in the kitchen. Just wish the website informs customers that only plug in dishwashers can be installed by their deliverers, not "hard-wire" ones.

Awesome Dishwasher!
5 Star Review   By Nikki25 on Home Depot - Oct 30, 2012

This dishwasher was a steal. I hadn't used a dishwasher in over 7 years. When my old dishwasher stopped working I just never replaced it. I had a Hotpoint dishwasher and it didn't clean very well. So I thought washing by hand would always get the best clean. I was wrong. My first wash, I wanted to test the dishwasher. I didn't rinse and put my pots in the wash as well, and the results were spectacular. Not only was there no residue, but my stainless steel pots were shining. And the best part, it is pretty quiet. We watched a movie in the open den next to the kitchen and I totally forgot it was on. An awesome deal!

dishes don't fit in the racks
2 Star Review   By smch on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2012

I have Corelle brand dishes, which are thin but standard sizes. The prongs of the racks do not allow the bowls to stand up, since the prongs are straight (with no curve at the bottom where the prong attaches to the rack to secure the dishes in an upright position). This causes them to topple over upon being loaded in the rack, taking up several spots for other dishes. I recommend taking at least 2 place settings of YOUR dishes with you when shopping, to see how yours fit in the racks. I have tried and there is no way this rack will accommodate 15 complete place settings. 12 place settings cannot all fit. Deeper cereal bowls or vegetable bowls either do not fit or really topple over, reducing space for other dishes quite a bit. After the first load, I had one broken glass. It wasn't broken when put into the dishwasher. The silverware rack, which is long and narrow, does not hold as much silverware as a more square rack does, as this rack only allows the silverware to spread out from one side rather than 4 sides, since it is closed on one side and up against the dishwasher wall. I do not use the silverware separators on the top of the silverware rack, as it is time consuming to use when loading and difficult to unload. To unload silverware, I remove the silverware rack from the unit. The closed side wall of the silverware rack accidentally comes apart when unloading, making it even more clumsy to unload. It doesn't matter how quiet it is if it doesn't even hold your dishes! I am running the dishwasher much more frequently now due to less space in the racks, which is offsetting any energy savings. My prior dishwasher was 17 years old and not a tall tub. Also, another thing I did not notice in all my research was the strength of the handle used to open the dishwasher, since the store floor models are not anchored in. Although it works ok, it has quite a bit of give and takes quite a bit of strength to tug the door open after it was closed tight. I do have a slight amount of arthritis in my wrist and hands which is under control (I'm 53). A more reinforced handle with a button of some sort to release the door would be much better. Also, the door spring is tight which allows the door to stay open in many positions, but with the silverware rack used along the side of the unit, the door must be opened completely to the floor and the rolling rack pulled completely out to put silverware in the rack toward the back of the rack. So with the tight spring, you must push the door open completely rather than it falling open easily to its full open position. All new dishwashers doors have the tight springs to open like this though, so it's really just the placement of the silverware rack that can be adjusted. Long story short, I would recommend spending another $200+ on a model with better racks for versatility. I'm researching if I can buy better racks to fit into this dishwasher model. If not, I'll be looking forward to the day I can replace this dishwasher. Positives: quiet, plastic tub is fine, just wish it was not so dark. Negatives: dishes must be washed before putting in, dishes do not come out completely clean (applesauce or melted cheese not removed) or completely dry on eco setting. Heated dry needed. I am using recommended rinse agent. I'm trying normal cycle now. Also, the info was very unclear on multiple websites regarding the filter, whether it was self cleaning or not. On this model (Whirlpool Model # WDF530PAYB), the filter is to be cleaned MANUALLY. Have had the dishwasher about 3 weeks now.
