Samsung DMT400RHS
3 Star Review  productwiki.com - Feb 6, 2011

The DMT400RHS is an all-in-one dishwasher from Samsung that offers a step-down from the companys DMT800RHS model and a step-up from the DMT300RFS model. Featuring a 24-inch rack length for sufficient space, this model is engineered with a noise prevention design that helps to minimize residual sound from a variety of sources. A digital leakage sensor is integrated within the base of the unit to help detect leaks at first instance and prevent extensive damage, with a twister-style nozzle system providing 360-degree water coverage to ensure no dish is left untouched. Four different wash cycles are available for light to heavy duty cleaning, with an Energy Star compliance certification signifying the multiple steps that have been taken to reduce the ecological footprint of the DMT400RHS. In addition, this model features an adjustable upper rack that enables larger dishes to be properly arranged on the lower rack. Features Stainless steel finish Noise ... PROS: (1) looks good - features a sleek, minimalist design that looks good in just about any kitchen (2) easy to use - integrates a straightforward control panel (3) build materials - fully constructed from stainless steel, both inside and out (4) operates quietly - good for those who like to run their dishwasher at night ... CONS: (1) difficult to install - fastening the water connection can be troublesome (2) poor customer support from the manufacturer

Nothing is clean anymore!
1 Star Review   By Ndrewz on Home Depot - Mar 29, 2013

We bought this dishwasher and loved it....at first. It is very quiet. The only problem is that it doesn't wash dishes. We clean our dishes and silver wear thoroughly before putting them in, and they somehow come out dirty. We have even started to separate our bowls and plates very far apart, hoping this will help. It hasn't. Today, I am trying a dishwasher cleaner, but somehow I don't think it will work.

Love this Dishwasher!
5 Star Review   By SCgirl on Home Depot - Mar 5, 2013

I went from a GE Profile that was 8 years old and continually leaked to this new Samsung 400. I absolutely love it. It is extremely quiet and my dishes have never been this clean. I rinse them off fairly well but not all the way before running a cycle, and also use a rinse aid liquid and the sensor cycle. It works great and looks nice too. I am very happy with my purchase! The ONLY drawback so far is that this model doesn't have a delay start which I was used to with my prior unit.

Beautiful machine....just doesn't dry.
2 Star Review   By Regina on Home Depot - Feb 23, 2013

I bought this dishwasher on Feb. 8th and it was installed a week later. It's absolutely beautiful and super quiet. The cycles do take a long time (about 2 hours), but it's so quiet that I just ran the machine at bedtime and let it go overnight. That wasn't a problem. The problem was that it did not dry. Another reviewer had posted this as a problem as well, but I figured since it was just one person it may have been either user/machine error. I have ran the machine now about 15 times, using different settings, using more and more rinse-aid...and the dishes still come out as if someone just took a sprinkler to them. I've contacted Samsung, and their customer relations department has responded with that this is a normal result as all of their newer appliances are "going green". The new dishwashers do not have a heated drying feature. Instead it is an air-dry feature, and they recommended using even more rinse-aid to assist with the air drying. So if you're okay with that...it really is a beautiful machine. I'm all about going green, but I need my dishes dry before I put them back in my cabinets.

Samsung dishwasher 24 inch
2 Star Review   By Micky on Home Depot - Feb 22, 2013

I love that you dont hear it running and has great room. What I do not like is the fact it hardly cleans your dishes which we put in rinshed off dishes and glasses and they come out half clean and half dirty still plus 1 1/2 to 2 hours for the cycle is insane for washing. I doesnt matter if I washed them today and unload it at night or 2 days later, 1/2 my dishes are still wet.

Details are Important
4 Star Review   By Mtngal on Home Depot - Jan 25, 2013

I have had this unit for about 2 weeks now and really do like it a lot. It cleans very nicely and is extremely quiet. I have only two knocks against this machine. I am comparing to my 8 year old Kitchen Aid but the silver ware compartment is not very big on this. The individual compartments just don't hold very many pieces of silverware. I can see this being a problem during big holiday dinners, etc. The other, slightly pesky issue is with the bottom rack. When you attempt to push it back in, it wants to come off track. This happens almost every time. It's not a huge deal but gets annoying after a while. Even with those minor issues, I would still buy this unit again. Also, if you do buy this machine, take note: it does NOT come with an electrical cord! I guess that is the new "thing" with dishwasher manufacturers now. The joke is on us I guess. Ha Ha! So remove the cord from your old machine before you let them haul it away or you will be making a trip to HD to buy one.

SO bad we returned it
1 Star Review   By KarateDad on Home Depot - Jan 2, 2013

This is a beautiful looking machine. It is SOOO quiet that you can't even hardly tell it is running. That's about the only good things I have to say. First off, it doesn't clean well. Almost every load, we find some items that aren't clean, especially silverware, and YES we are following the manufacturers recommended loading format. Second, it doesn't dry well. Dishes come out dripping wet, especially anything that has a domed at the top (when in the machine) like bowls. Without the rinse agent, the dishes looked like the dry cycle hadn't run at all. Third - cycle time. The SHORTEST cycle this machine has is a MINIMUM of 1 hour and 50 minutes, and CAN take as long as 3 hours. Most machines today have similar cycle times, somehow they are more water and energy efficient washing the dishes LONGER. However, most other washers have a Quick Wash cycle, which will wash your dishes in around 35-45 minutes (using more water and electricity). This one DOES NOT, you HAVE to wait 2-3 hours (for dirty and wet dishes to boot). Forth, installation. While installation was easy, the water connector is at the front of the machine, and the water connector they sell you at HD isn't long enough, and my store didn't even carry a longer one. It took me 2 trips back to HD to finally get the right parts. Fifth, the buttons. The buttons have a mind of their own. Sometimes you press and press and they do nothing, then all of a sudden they start working. Sixth, Customer Support. I called Samsung, and they were completely useless, didn't even offer to send out a technician to look at it. We ended up going back to Home Depot, and exchanged this for a Maytag (the same ones my in-laws just bought).
