Great dishwasher before it broke
2 Star Review   By Raymond on Home Depot - Feb 21, 2013

Initially I really liked this dishwasher. Fairly quiet, although might be a bit too loud if its located near the family room (mine isn't so its fine). Cleaned really well, and the feature which allows the entire (or most of) the bottle of dishwashing liquid to be added at once is a great idea! However, after only six months the top "spinner" broke off. GE was no help (don't know why I bother to send in those warranty cards if there isn't any real warranty) so now I have it "jimmy-rigged" so that it works okay. Just would expect more than six months out of an appliance at this price-point.

Well made, but poorly designed
3 Star Review   By HomeDepotAddict on Home Depot - Feb 5, 2013

I replaced an LG Direct Drive that cost half as much - and I want it back! The racks inside of this GE Profile are horrible. Bowls won't stand up, and I could put 50% more dishes in the LG than this unit will hold just because of the poor rack design. I really would have passed on it had I realized this, but I ordered it online to match the complete $11,000 kitchen appliance replacement. Bad move.

Wonderful!!!!
5 Star Review   By Ladybug0727 on Home Depot - Oct 11, 2012

I replaced another GE Profile with this one, I am so pleased with this!! It is so much quieter, I have to really listen to see if it has started. My flatware looks great, shiny and new again, and NO SPOTS.Glasses clean with NO spots, a BIG plus for me!! Now, I rinse everything, as it is only the 2 of us, so I run it every other day. But when we have a house full, it runs every day, and less rinsing of the dishes, and it still cleans great. It cleans baking dishes and pots & pans very good..The Steam feature is great. I do use the Cascade w/Dawn action Pacs, and love them....The Stainless Steel cleans easy, everyone told me SS would be so hard to keep clean, I use Weiman wipes (Wal-Mart) every few days, so easy!!

Very poor dishwasher.
1 Star Review   By Kaylyn on Home Depot - Feb 10, 2012

The inside of the dishwasher never looks clean after the dishes are washed. The Smart dispenser quit working for me. That takes up so much room that I cannot get my regular load of dishes in. I don't feel the dishes in the upper rack get clean eoungh. I wish I had gotten a simpler machine.

Really clean dishes!
4 Star Review   By Baby56 on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2011

I have to say that I really love my new dishwasher and don't have any issue at all with the way it cleans. Now I must admit that I am a person that has never put dishes into the dishwasher dirty as I grew up brushing and rinsing all food off before putting into the dishwasher. We aren't having spotting issues either but we are using the Cascade rinse agent that was recommended by GE. We are using Cascade Complete Liquid (being that this holds a large amount and we aren't having to add detergent every load) and have been very satisfied with how it is cleaning the dishes although I have read where others say using the Cascade Complete or Cascade with Dawn action pacs work better. We are also using the heated dry and added heat cycles to dry all the dishes since some were coming out wet without doing this, to me this has been no big deal as I have never had a dishwasher dry all the cups and silverware anyway until now. This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned or heard in anyone’s house; in fact it is so quiet that when I started it for the first time I actually had to listen hard to hear it. Now my biggest complaint and the only reason I did not give 5 stars is that with this unit I don't think they have done a good job of laying out the bottom rack. It is very difficult to put very many bowls in the bottom rack as there just aren't enough stems/posts in which to hold them upright properly. Now perhaps I still have some experimenting to do as I have only owned for a little over a month and was gone for 2.5 weeks from home. I am sure there are better dishwashers out there and worse out there, but for me this has been a godsend as I was working with a 15 year old basic model dishwasher before. I definitely am satisfied with our purchase!

Not what we expected
3 Star Review   By dlb421 on Home Depot - Oct 18, 2011

This unit runs much quieter than our last GE Dishwasher but it leaves food on the dishes and silverware. It doesn't seem to have the power to clean. We have tried different cycles and have made sure water temperature is hot before we start but results seem to be the same.
