Gets the job done
4 Star Review   By Puddin on Home Depot - May 23, 2013

For the price, the dishwasher is okay. Not built as sturdy as my old Maytag. But it gets the job done. Dishes and glassware, silverware come out sparkling clean. It doesn't have too many cycle choices, so it does run for a long time but is very quiet. The only thing I don't care for is when the dishwasher goes from cycle to cycle, the timer is very loud when it clicks, but other than that I am satisfied with the product.

Totally Adequate
4 Star Review   By poisonivy on Home Depot - May 21, 2013

Each dishwasher is different. I haven't had time to adjust to this one yet, but so far no crusty dishes have emerged from it, so I am satisfied so far. This is the first portable I've had to move to get the hoses to the tap, but it is very easy to do so. I can only REALLY rate it after a few years of use. Sorry that it is made in China, I would have searched harder and paid more if I'd thought to look for Made in USA.

A nice light weight portable dishwasher
4 Star Review   By OCanada on Home Depot - Apr 30, 2013

Does a great job cleaning. Does not leave any residue or spots. It is however considerably smaller than our old portable dishwasher and is unable to hold as much. Also there is not a water miser setting.

CHEAPLY MADE!!!!!
1 Star Review   By Brian8 on Home Depot - Apr 26, 2013

This is the 4th Portable Dishwasher I've owned in my life - including other GE models. The pros are that this one does seem to clean well. The cons are that it's VERY CHEAPLY built!!! When you buy a BRAND-NEW GE product, you kind of expect good quality - or so says Consumer Reports! Unfortunately, the top rack does NOT slide in and out easily at all!!! It's made of cheap rollers and a cheap track so it NEVER slides in without having to fight it EVERY time. You have to push on the right side wheels, then the left, then the right, then the left. After a minute of this game, it finally closes. Would it kill GE to have used metal casters and wheels and rack instead of CHEAP plastic!?!!?! I would NOT buy this make and model again. Stay clear! It's only a month old and I don't expect the top rack to last another month! Also, it doesn't seem like it holds as much as our last portable and the exterior dimensions were almost identical. For some reason, the way the interior layout is, it doesn't hold as much stuff. Our old one had the top rack designed so it would take taller things on one side than the other. This doesn't have that feature unfortunately.

This product is really ideal with all the features
5 Star Review   By ChaCha on Home Depot - Apr 16, 2013

I was blown away with the features and performance of this dishwasher. It has all the bells and whistles and is many times better than the one I had removed. The capacity and quietness was impeccable.

Overall Good Dishwasher
4 Star Review   By MsJenn3kids on Home Depot - Feb 19, 2013

It was absolutely necessary for our family to get a dishwasher due to our 3rd child being born. It has done what we wanted it to do. We use it on average once a day. I've learned that you have to rinse the dishes, cups, and bottles prior to putting them in the dishwasher. Sometimes there will still be stuff on a few dishes that you will need to scrap off, but overall a majority of the dishes are clean. It has done a wonderful job on our sippy cups and bottles. I've never had to rewash these, which is absolutely amazing. We had to buy a dishwasher basket with a lid to put our nipples and stoppers in as the one that comes with the dishwasher does not have a lid. The only think I found to be a little difficult is putting the hose back into the back of the dishwasher when I want to put it away. It is difficult to get it completely back into the dishwasher so it is flush with the back. Overall it is very simple to use as there is not an overwhelming number of features, which is great if you just want to keep it simple. The main thing to know is that there is a normal setting and a setting for pots & pans that you will need to switch between depending on what type of load you have.

If you're concerned about water temperature then this is the dishwasher for you.
5 Star Review   By Office on Home Depot - Feb 6, 2013

This product has an advance heating water option which has shown us that the water temperature that we had with our old dishwasher was not proper. Now our dishes are coming out of the dishwasher looking like they've been cleaned properly.

A very quiet dishwasher.
5 Star Review   By Iceout2 on Home Depot - Feb 2, 2013

The folks at GE must of heard our complaints obout noisy dishwashers when they designed this one. It is very quiet! My only complaint is the user instructions is very poor. You have to try to figure out how to use it by the labels on the controls. Does a good job cleaning dishes.

Not what I expected.
3 Star Review   By TBear on Home Depot - Jan 29, 2013

This is the third portable dishwasher I have owned since buying my home. It does an adequate job, but I am less than impressed. Let me clear up some confusion from previous reviews: It definately DOES have heated dry. It definately DOES NOT HAVE an upper spray arm. What is has is a system that shoots water against what looks like an inverted dish in the top, and that disburses the water above the top rack - it works, but not as good as an arm. It advertises room for 12 place settings. NO WAY!! Unless you have really tiny dishes. Also the top rack is not ajustable, so anything over size, like a deep stock pot, you will either hand wash, or have to remove the top rack. If you have dishes for the same load, you my just want to hand wash any really large pots or pans. The hose for the sink comes out of the rear left corner. My other two dishwashers has the hoses on the right. The difference is that these would not reach my sink without rolling the dishwasher around. I paid my appliance guy over $100 to legnthen the hoses for me. I regret not spending the extra mony on a better dishwasher in the first place. This dishwasher is an OK value for the money. My suggestion is spend an extra $100 or so and get something really good.

Nice & simple to use
3 Star Review   By Kendall on Home Depot - Jan 21, 2013

I liked the price & ease of use of this GE product. This dishwasher cleans the dishes very well, but does not dry the dishes very well. We usually just open the door once the dry cycle finishes and let them air dry.

I wish it did a better job cleaning the dishes.
4 Star Review   By fatherfan on Home Depot - Jan 15, 2013

Perhaps I expect too much, but when we run a load of dishes, some of which have been sitting dirty for a couple of days, some come out needing more cleaning. Maybe I should use the pot-scrubbing setting when I'm just doing dishes? Maybe I should rinse them more before I put them in, But I'd prefer a dishwasher that could clean even dishes that have been sitting dirty without the extra cost of the pot-scrubbing cycle. In fairness, the washer this replaced was no better, but the one I had back in the 90s was!

Best feature set and quality for any portable at the price
4 Star Review   By bizgoody1 on Home Depot - Nov 20, 2012

I have used a pretty broad array of dishwashers over the years varying from the oldest models used in apartment communities, to brand new models purchased myself, and this GE portable model performs on par with some of the best... I read some of the reviews that stated that they had issues with food residue, however after testing my own unit extensively after it was delivered I have found nothing but sparkling clean dishes... (And I do NOT rinse my dishes prior to loading the dishwasher) I find that if you use a rinse aid, and use quality detergent (I use Finish Tabs) as you should with ANY dishwasher, this model performs perfectly... My other concern was how loud the unit would be. I have to say that I was surprised that this model was as quiet as it is, as it performs with less noise than some under counter models I have had in the past... Installation and hook-up is a snap, the cord and hose are adequate length, and seem to be built to withstand the extending and retracting that you'll need to do over the course of ownership... I researched extensively to find the best unit at the best price, and I think with this model I came close to exactly what I was looking for.

It does the job.
4 Star Review   By Christine on Home Depot - Sep 8, 2012

This is a pretty standard dishwasher. It works fine, just give the dishes a rinse before putting them in. I've had very few things that didn't come out all the way clean. I live alone and I run it about twice a week. A larger family might have to run it every day or two, and might want to consider getting one that's a little larger. The only real problem I have with it is that the silverware basket takes up kind of a lot of room on the lower rack. That said, you should keep in mind that portable dishwashers are louder than built in models, but this one is no louder than other portables I've used.

Happy with purchase
5 Star Review   By CPMichigan on Home Depot - Aug 7, 2012

Bought for my 92 year old father and he really likes it. Straight forward and easy to use, great features for a senior citizen, or anyone! His kitchen is not set up for a built in,but this being a convertible unit, it leaves the option open when kitchen is remodeled or updated. Good solid machine.

Don't buy this one
2 Star Review   By Suzie on Home Depot - Jul 15, 2012

Have had this dishwasher for two months. Does not clean the dishes well at all. Many have to be re-washed by hand. Bottom rack comes off of the track EVERY TIME you pull it out. Dryer feature does not work well at all. Dishes are soaking wet when the cycle is over. Would not recommend this one.

Seems to work well. Dishes get pretty clean, but it doesn't have a lot extra features.

ok but not as good as I expected it to be.
3 Star Review   By hwdishes on Home Depot - May 3, 2012

It does a fairly good job of cleaning but your dishes need to be well rinsed or scraped clean. Many years ago I had a portable ge dishwasher and it is almost exactly like the one I just got as far as the racks and silverware tray go but it did a much better job of cleaning than this one does. I could put silverware and plates that had egg stuck to them and it did a beautiful job of cleaning. I don't know what the difference is between the new and the old but there is a differance. It is a good basic machine and for the most part I am happy with it,
