The variable steam works well.
5 Star Review   By ellen on Home Depot - Jun 16, 2013

It heats up very fast, faster than any iron I have previously used. Yes, the filling of the reservoir was challenging at first. It does not require refilling as often as my previous iron. I use an old bottle from dishwashing liquid instead of the cup that comes with it. I like the variable steam which is easy to change while ironing.

Very good iron, fair price
5 Star Review   By Clovis on Home Depot - May 28, 2013

I had purchased the same iron on Amazon a week ago and then, my mother who is not at all Internet savvy wanted it, too. However, the price for the same iron in physical stores like Walmart was around $75-$80, while I only paid $50 for it on Amazon. So, I gave this iron to her and had to buy another one for myself. However, one week later, the same iron now increased $13 in price. This is how I came upon Home Depot- it had the same price I had paid on Amazon one week earlier. Aside from that, very prompt delivery (I would say faster than Amazon) and great product- which I already knew from consulting reviews on Consumer Reports. Great job!

keeping box/receipt just in case
4 Star Review   By sabbasmas on Home Depot - Oct 23, 2012

Irons well. Blasts through wrinkles effortlessly. However, it makes a loud pop sound at times which is disconcerting. I will hold onto the box and receipt just in case.

Nice Iron
4 Star Review   By KathL on Home Depot - Aug 28, 2012

I will say that overall I do like the iron. It beeps a lot. The documentation mentions that it beeps when it comes to temp. It doesn't specify that it does this continually as you iron because the iron cycles the heat cycle as it cools. So every 30 sec to a minute you get a beep. It's a little annoying, especially if you are a batch ironer. Luckily the beep is not terribily loud.

The Perfect Iron for your bucks
5 Star Review   By rowebb on Home Depot - May 29, 2012

This Iron is an excellent bang for your bucks, plenty of watts to get the tough wrinkles out your jeans, plenty of steam and an excellent glide across your materials. The controls were simple to understand and it has all the latest features to make it safe even when you forget to shut it off, which my wife seems to alway do. I'm a research nut and this iron was a Consumer Reports Best Buy suggestion and I wholeheartly agree...this is a great iron.

Same But Different
4 Star Review   By BronxBilly on Home Depot - Feb 7, 2012

My wife kept saying that our old iron no longer worked. I'm not sure that was an accurate assessment however as most husbands do they take path of least resistance, so I bought a new one. Seems to me that all steam irons are basically the same. This one is loaded with features and great mood lighting (soft blue) but at the end of the day it's a steam iron. What I wanted was a decent price, heft, no leaks and a range of temperatures and that's what I got. It is a bit of a pain to fill. Comes with a little filler bottle but if you're not careful it will run all over the place. The key is "slow" filling.

excellent features for reasonable price
5 Star Review   By Quill on Home Depot - Jan 24, 2012

Ironing with the Singer EF is a pleasure, its light weight, adequate steam and stainless steel plate all rank right up there with higher priced irons I've tried. The only drawback is the auto-off feature which tends to activate if one has really smooth ironing technique. Must shake the iron to get it to stay on when that happens.

Best Iron Ever Used
5 Star Review   By Quilter on Home Depot - Jan 13, 2012

Exellent Iron. Heats up quickly. Steam and burst of steam is strong. Holds a great deal of water. Cord is long. I have only used it a few times but there have been no drips of leaks. Very satisfied with the quality. Love all the steam vents and the extra vents at the tip will be a bonus for quilters.

Very good replacement.
5 Star Review   By Grammie on Home Depot - Jan 8, 2012

Have only used this iron for 2 sessions of ironing and am very impressed.Excellent steaming qualities which produces nicely finished items. Requires refilling on a regular basis but this is a small task in exchange for very good results. Have had no problems with leaking or "sputtering". Would definitely recommend this iron.

This is a good iron
5 Star Review   By Janice on Home Depot - Dec 9, 2011

I sew and I have spent over $100 for Rowenta Professional models. This iron is just as good. I love the variety of heat settings. Goes on sale often, do not pay full retail. High recommend.

This product has great features.
4 Star Review   By Susan on Home Depot - Sep 7, 2011

I like the digital readout, variable settings, anti-drip, & quick startup. It is light & easy to handle. It handles all types of fabrics well. It easily sits upright on surface. Must keep it moving or the auto-off engages soon(occurs when I am sewing & using it with time lapses, but reheats fast). Otherwise a great iron & great value!
